5 out of 5 stars Perfection in a Tin   November 19, 2008

The film that introduced Quentin Tarantino to film fans and what a great film it is. br / br /I remember going to the flicks with a few friends and we all decided to give this a try as nothing else caught our eye. br / br /I had never seen a film like it and watching it 17 years later it is still a classic. Madsen is great as the psychotic Mr. Blonde and the infamous ear scene has become one of cinemas most famous. br / br /The Blu ray version comes in a great display tin that looks great. Come nice inserts and the extras on the DVD are fantastic. br / br /Add a great quality transfer of the film and you can't go wrong. br / br /A 5 Star Blu Ray all the way. br /

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Set   April 23, 2009

After watching this movie only once before and dying to see it again, i purchased this. I have to admit, it is a good design and comes with some nifty cards and a tin which sounds like a petrol can itself. Great movie as well, works brilliantly in High Definition to be fair as well.

5 out of 5 stars excellent edition of a tarentino classic!   April 7, 2009
M. Selby (north east uk)
well the film in my opinion is great, the fuel can tin is a nice touch mine came in perfect condition with no dents or scratches either. inside are the cards some of which i have put on my wall and the bluray disk. The image quality is good with lots of detail throughout. overall 5*s a good one for my collection !

4 out of 5 stars Nice Product MUST HAVE for any collector   April 3, 2009
Mr. A. Playle (United Kingdom)
Nice product, tin is VERY COOL especially with the innards being designed to look like matches. GREAT IDEA and the cards look very nice. I don't need to rate the film as everyone knows if its Tarantino film it's guaranteed to be pure class.

3 out of 5 stars Great film - badly packaged   December 23, 2008

When it comes to reviewing a modern classic presented in a new box, am I supposed to review it as though it's a new release or simply review the differences between this and the previous release? I have decided to review both old and new features separately. br / br /The film itself is quite simply a masterpiece - and being presented in blu-ray only enhances the visual experience. Five stars for the film. br / br /The packaging, however, is a different story. The handle on tin had fallen off before the package had even been delivered, and the plastic frame the disc sits in is not glued properly to the cardboard insert. All in all, the case is absolutely shoddy. It looks cheap, is badly thought out and is poorly assembled. Zero stars for the packaging. br / br /So my dilemma is whether or not to give this release two or three stars overall. The price of the film is what made me round up rather than down. This is the only edition available in the UK and doesn't actually claim to be a special edition. There is no cheaper alternative, unless you import from the USA. I would recommend people DO import from the USA (if it happens to be cheaper at the time) - it really is not worth paying the extra for this awful, awful packaging.
