Right up there with the best November 24, 2008 M. W. Atkinson (Leigh, Lancs.) 27 out of 30 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic concert film of The Stones' residence at The Beacon Theatre, New York, directed by Martin Scorcese
br /
br /The film is a mix of documentary type clips of the making of the concert, from stage design to setlist, interspersed with archive footage of The Stones and a mixture of favourites and lesser known songs
br /
br /The film is very much up close and personal and what comes across is how much The Stones seem to be enjoying themselves.
br /
br /The highlights for me are Loving Cup (with Jack White), Little TA, Satisfaction and Brown Sugar
br /
br /This dvd is even better than the Theatre disc from The Four Flicks Stones dvd boxset
br /
br /Buy it, turn it up and enjoy !
stones scorsese February 4, 2009 Mr. Philip R. Peakall (england) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
this dvd was bought for my son as a xmas gift, the feedback from him was that it is a great dvd, and as with any rolling stones material brought out is allways first class. which accounts for them still selling music after 4 or so decades. i shall soon be watching the aforesaid dvd myself as soon as he comes on a visit. so all in all greeeaaaat
GENIUS AT WORK! February 16, 2009 R. Pestridge 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well it's not too tricky to work out - A collaboration involving The Stones Scorcese, the work of genius prevails.....Yeah, the Stones are getting on a bit but watching this gives the impression they've been injected with the big hyperdermic of life. My music taste ranges from Katie Melua through to Slayer quite a lot in between. THIS IS ESSENTIAL!
