Amazon.co.uk Review
In iSister Act/i, Whoopi Goldberg plays a Reno lounge singer who hides out as a nun when her villainous boyfriend (Harvey Keitel) goes gunning for her. Maggie Smith is the mother superior who has to cope with Whoopi's unorthodox behaviour, but the cute script turns the tables and shows the latter energising the stodgy convent with song and attitude. A real crowd-pleaser and a perfect vehicle for Goldberg, this is a happy experience all around. --iTom Keogh/i, Amazon.com pWhoopi Goldberg returns in iSister Act 2: Back in the Habit/i, a gratuitous, poorly written sequel that contrives a reason to get her character back into Maggie Smith's convent. The "socially conscious" plot finds Goldberg being asked to relate to a bunch of street kids and pull them together into a choir. Since a bad guy is needed, the script grabs that old chestnut about a rich guy (James Coburn) preparing to close down the convent's school, and runs with it. The film is slow and unconvincing from start to finish, although co-stars Mary Wickes and Kathy Najimy get some good laughs, and the music is pretty spirited. --iTom Keogh/i, Amazon.com

5 out of 5 stars Whoopi is FAB!   December 22, 2008

br /I love Whoopi Goldberg in this film. She's brilliant. The choir makes your own heart sing out loud with the music they sing at the convent. I recommend both these films to everyone, especially if a fan of Whoopi. The second one is just as good.

I bought Sister Act 2 to show my pupils to do with a project they are doing at school. When I saw I could get both films I was thrilled because I remembered watching Sister Act (1) when I was a teenager. br /The first one did not disappoint; the second is as cheesy as you get but the music is great. I even spotted a couple of people who became famous after the film such as Lauryn Hill from the Fugees and Jennifer Love Hewitt from The Ghost Whisperer. br /The service was fast and packaged well. br /Overall, very happy! br / br /

Both films have a real feel good factor. These are films for all the family and you wont be able to stop yourself singing along. The plots go from ruthless to sad and from satisfying to hilarious. All the characters are portrayed amazingly with Whoopi Goldberg at her very best.

With the films now made into a show, I cannot wait until we see the musical, as the movies are brilliant.
