Amazon.co.uk Review The film career of Guy Ritchie has endured a few bumps in recent years, with a collection of generally forgettable films from a man clearly capable of so much more. Thank goodness then for IRocknRolla/I, which marks a smashing return to form, as he heads once more to the criminal underworld of London. p This time, Ritchie is playing far closer to the likes of ISnatch/I and ILock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels/I, and while IRocknRolla/I may see the director playing on safer ground than of late, it doesnrsquo;t take long for the decision to be vindicated. The plot surrounds a real-estate job with millions at stake, and it gives ample excuse to unleash a collection of raw gangsters and tough guys into the mix, who each fancy a bit of the action. p Thus, IRocknRolla/I brings together Gerard Butlerrsquo;s Scottish gangster, Tom Wilkinsonrsquo;s London crime lord, Toby Kebbellrsquo;s drug-addicted musician and the likes of Thandie Newton, Mark Strong and Jeremy Piven too. And Ritchiersquo;s cast serve him really well, making ample mileage out of the lines theyrsquo;re given. p Granted, all of this is hardly fresh territory for the director, but IRocknRolla/I is nonetheless funny, action-packed and a good British mob film to while away an evening with. Welcome back, Mr Ritchie⦠--IJon Foster/I

First for me - Guy Ritchie Film June 10, 2009 Mrs. L. J. Reed 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Unlike many I have never watched a Guy Ritchie film before. it was Gerard Butler who was the magnet for me. Not usually a fan of violence in films or bad language I have to say the Mr Ritchie got it just right.
br /This film is better for watching more than once. The humour and creativity of all the actors is memorable. Tom Wilkinson has a ball as Lenny Cole and has forever banished the man with the gnomes from the Full Monty. The homesexual sequence is so funny without being perverse. Can you imagine what some directors would have done with that theme? Very clever. Even the violence is humourous and the few sex scenes all but melted into the background of a really funny film.
br /Everyone should see it. Just don't expect a gangster movie in the typical gangster style!

Hehehe.. that should be a one star. It really should. It's just like Mr Ritchie Ritch Posh bloke's other daft gangster films. Everyone hams it up like mad. The plot's unbelievable. The characters are cartoonish. The script is preposterous. But.. it's a right old larf. Don't take it seriously. Don't worry that it's just a rehash of LSATSB. Watch it while doing something else you know is wrong for you.
A million times better than expected - Loved it! April 6, 2009 Tori Gray (London) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Again, like everyone else reviewing this film, I'm comparing it to the great Snatch and Lock, Stock... The only reason I decided to watch it is because the reviews were so good after the flops that preceeded it. I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved it!

br /Every character was excellent and excellently cast, the story was brilliant (a bit same-old same-old typical of british gangster flicks however not remotely boring or disappointing) and had everything necessary to keep you wanting more right to the end.

br /Good action, good comedy, good storyline. Watch this!

Very good, comedy combined with action. Well up to the usual Guy Ritchie standards.
