Originals! February 8, 2009 O. E. Hansen (Norway) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
This is a bagain. You get all 3 movies, both remastered and the original cinema versions. I bought the box for the originals, so that I dont have to watch the embarrassing new scenes added in the remastered versions. Buy it!
Memories and future excitement! September 30, 2008 Anghara (London, UK) 36 out of 45 found this review helpful
I was seven when Star Wars first came out in the cinema, and ever since, a full 31 years, I have been hooked on the films. Now I introduce my son to them, and yaaay! Here we go again! All the memories flood back, and there is his newfound excitement adding to my enjoyment of what had to be one of the best ever trilogies put up on the big screen.

br /It isn't just the movies, but having the option to watch either the digitally remastered version, or the older version that I remember better, is a great thing. From the special effects, to the fantastic cast, the scene setting opening credits, with that amazing musical sound track, the weird and wonderful aliens, right through to the pithy relationship of Leia and Han, these were truly fantastic movies, and should be in everyone's collection. Not just for the now, and those of us who remember them originally, but for the future, when we can delight in introducing others to the eternal fight of good against evil, and the story of determination, love, and hope that these movies represent.

Stop milking it Mr Lucas ( next year Blu-Ray )!? May 27, 2009 Dragonlord (Cornwall) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
Yes the Star Wars are the best films of all time but, this is the 4th boxset on dvd of these films. Some fans will buy every single boxset that comes out of Star Wars and Mr Lucas knows this. Anyway if you have or are thinking about buying a Blu-Ray player wait untill next year hopefully we will have the Blu-Ray boxset which will be awesome!

Good but not good enough February 5, 2009 Lee J. Ridgard (Chesterfield, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This review got five stars purely because of the films not the product itself.
br /
br /This is a good set if you don't already own the films on DVD or you want to make a bit of space in your collection as all six discs are housed in three slime line DVD cases that are contained in a nice box.
br /
br /But if you do already own them and you don't need a little extra space don't spend your money as there is noting new here in the way of special features or anything it's just another attempt of Lucas Film and 20th fox to make you part way with your cash for something that you already have.

br /I cant see us getting anything different until the blu ray release
The next generation! March 22, 2009 sipam 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have loved the star wars films since the release of the original and time has not diminished this. I know there are star wars fans out there who have bought other remastered/redigital/rewhatever dvds for their collections, but I was just happy to find the original 3 in a boxset (and the prequel/sequel set) so that I could buy them for my ten year old who absolutely loves them.
