Amazon.co.uk Review emScrubs /emstaged a near-miraculous recovery in its seventh season; this despite the usual indifferent treatment by the network, low ratings, and a writer's strike that only allowed for 11 episodes. In this case, less was more. emScrubs /emregained its footing with sharper writing (Dr. Cox's signature rants are more inspired than tiresome this season, although at one point, nemesis Dr. Kelso threatens to hire an orchestra to "play him off"), more empathetic situations, and meta-fun with such "third-tier" characters as Snoop Dogg Attending (formerly Snoop Dog Intern), Dr. Beardface (pronounced "Beard-fassay"), and new squeaky-voiced intern, Josephine (emScrubs /emscribe Aseem Batra). Beginning with J.D. (Zach Braff) and Elliott (Sarah Chalke) coming to their senses before they can consummate that sixth season cliffhanging kiss, this season will be one of "weird crystallizing moments." Elliott will call off her upcoming nuptials to Keith. J.D. will be forced to tell Kim ("cute as a button" Elizabeth Banks), whom he impregnated after only their first date, that he does not love her. The "annoying whiny man-child," as Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) calls him, will finally ponder whether it is time for him to grow up. Dr. Cox will admit that he is lonely without his acerbic wife (Christa Miller) and son when they go out of town. Other developments include the smitten Janitor's (Neil Flynn) initially suspect new girlfriend (can she really be named "Lady?") and on a Scrubsian sad note, Kelso (Ken Jenkins) faces forced retirement when it is revealed he is actually 65 years old. emScrubs /emdeftly blends absurdist fantasy, flat-out silliness and dramatic, emotional moments, as in "My Number One Doctor," in which Elliott must deal with a terminal patient's suicide attempt. The season's most ambitious episode is the finale, "My Princess," a emPrincess Bride/em homage in which Dr. Cox transforms one undiagnosable patient's case into his son's bedtime story that is populated by emScrubs /emcharacters, with Elliott as a princess, Turk (Donald Faison) and Carla (Judy Reyes) as a two-headed witch, and J.D. as, you guessed it, the village idiot. The ample bonus features include audio commentary for every episode, a fun "Alternate Lines" segment that illustrates the improvisational leeway cast members enjoy, deleted scenes, bloopers, an interview with Ken Jenkins, and a behind the scenes look at the "My Princess" episode. Poised for cancellation, emScrubs /emgot a second opinion from ABC, which picked up the series for an eighth season. That's heartening news for devoted fans who would never pull the plug. To borrow Turk's well-worn catchphrase, "Thatrsquo;s what I'm talkin' about." --emDonald Liebensonbr //embr /strongSpecial Features/strong ul liMy Making Of II: "My Princess" /li liOne-On-One With Ken Jenkins (Dr. Robert "Bob" Kelso)/li liAlternate Lines/li liDeleted Scenes/li liBloopers/li liAudio Commentaries/li /ul

Scrubs season 7 October 9, 2008 Carla McGarry 10 out of 17 found this review helpful
Scrubs season 7 is coming out soon on DVD and I think that it's a top notch series. It is annoying that it's only about 13 episodes long instead of 22/24, but the quality is definately there. At the time it first came out, many believed it to be the last series of Scrubs, and the season has a more mature, back to basics theme used in seasons 1-4. Many have said that Scrubs is losing its touch, but this series is fantastic - funny, clever and touching. I think people should give it a go - trust me, you'll love it.
Good, not on a par with the others December 3, 2008 Caroline Locke 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This season is good but it lacks the direction of the other series and with the disjointed episode numbers (my princess) it feels very incomplete. But it is still very funny and would reccomend it to anybody with half a brain. Buy all the other series as well though!
Scrubs still wonderful, but shorter. December 13, 2008 I. Dawson (London) First of all, this is a much shorter season. Blame he writer's strike, for while previouly years we would have 22 episodes, here we only find 11.

br /We return to the problems of the previous season: JD struggling to deal with a baby due, while wondering if it is time he grew up, and Elliot getting cold feet over her marriage. This keeps the drama of the show going, and while it still feel strong, it is not as weighty as before.

br /But the jokes return, and there are some brilliant ones here. The Janitor is given some wonderful plots to follow, as he becomes the hospital enviromental officer, or starts the Janitorial newspaper. And we see the return of The Worlds Most Giant Doctor. Scrubs has always had a wonderful sense of humour, and this is still true, with some fantastic daydream sequences.

br /It is such a shame that this season is so much shorter, for Scrubs is still the best comedy show on TV at the moment, and every episode is a treaure.
Great Season! January 8, 2009 Mr. C. J. Deacon 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Shorter but still Scrubs! January 20, 2009 Mr. Charles Deacon 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A shorter series to surprise us but it's still classic Scrubs. Great acting and funny moments and there is a Series 8! YEAH!
