Abbott (South of England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful I enjoyed this low budget film although it does have its problems. br / br /Firstly the plot never really convinced me, the world runs out of oil and cannibals now roam the streets. Riiiight. br / br /Secondly, the acting. Whilst Michael Madson is quite chilling as Jackal he only gets about 2 minutes of screen time and is quickly disposed of. Vinnie Jones on the other hand, whilst also barely appearing seems to be under the impression he is in a pantomine. Bo Hiss. Mahahahahahahaha! br / br /Some of the acting from the minor characters is pretty poor lucky Robert Carradine, Michael Kelly and Ryder Strong balance it out with strong performances. br / br /So, the story...some survivors are sheltering in a hospital and rescue a girl in the deserted town from being attacked by cannibals. Problem is the cannibals have followed them to sanctuary and want fresh meat to eat (well the leading lady is quite tasty!). They take one survivor at a time so the meat tastes fresher. br / br /Thus leaving the main character, who goes all Commando meets Xena in the finale taking down the cannibals in like 5 seconds. br / br /There is a twist with one of the survivors, but I was 'in' on the twist fairly early on which did spoil it somewhat. br / br /Overall it wasn't great but it was different from the usual bog standard zombie/slasher/teen flicks so thats always nice to see.
