The Ultimate Anthology June 16, 2009 Lee J. Ridgard (Chesterfield, England) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
These films are great this set contains all four of the previously released Blu-ray they come with all of the features that were prevously released on the double disc Region 1 dvds.
br /
br /They are encased in a foil box set that contains the Blu-ray cases unlike that of the American version which I believe comes in slime line packaging.
br /
br /All of the transfers are great sound and picture quality is amazing Batman 1989 certainly has never looked or sounded as good as it does on this particular transfer well worth the buy if you haven't brought them separately as getting the set works out cheaper that buying them individually.
br /
br /My only problem is the lack of the digital transfer of Batman 1989 which got released with the anthology and the separate edition of the film in America.
br /
br /But otherwise this set is really worth having for any Batman fan that doesn't own all four films even Batman and Robin is worth a watch.

A Must For Any Self-Respecting Batman Fan! June 19, 2009 D. Laurikietis (North West England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As I've written lengthy reviews of the films themselves and their special featues for the DVD releases I shan't retread old ground here.
br /Let me answer the question you're probably asking yourself if you're viewing this item;
br /
br /"Is it worth the double dip!"
br /
br /For my money, YES! Particularly if you own these films in their original pan scan format on 'vanilla' discs.
br /
br /Regardless of how you feel about the Burton / Schumacher Bat-films one can scarvely argue that each instalment is a visual triumph of production design and the HD transfers really make the films' unique aesthetics come to life.
br /
br /The Gotham of Batman 1989 has never looked so shadowy and intimidating! In 1080p the streets look so much more grime encrusted, bullet riddled and garbage strewn.
br /
br /But of course, the visual connoisseur knows that there's more to HD than clarity and the new transfers are alive with colour and texture too.
br /
br /The wondrous dark winter wonderland of Batman Returns truly glistens in HD with the contrasts between the sharp blacks of the buildings and costumes and the white fluffy texture of the snow.
br /
br /And, while I have mixed feelings about the Scxhumacher films, the colours in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin have never looked so bold and vibrant!
br /
br /All the wonderful extras from the Special Edition DVDs are thankfully present and the sound is equally rich and immersive (though I don't have Dolby True HD Surround... yet!)
br /
br /In short... If you call yourself a Batman fan then this anthology should be right next to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on your shelf. Especially for less than a tenner per disc.

Audio track in castilian spanish too September 15, 2009 jjaviroquai (Spain) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Esta edición en Blu Ray tiene también el audio en castellano de España. Las cuatro películas tienen el audio en castellano, tanto en la versión actual (el pack Anthology) como en su edición por separado. This Blu Ray has an audio track in castilian Spanish.
Cheap Version September 4, 2009 MicHaeL H. (The Netherlands) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
There is nothing wrong with the quality of this BD-set.
br /The contents look fine, the transfers are fine.
br /
br /However, the only complaint I have is how they once again made the UK/EU-version this cheap knockoff of sorts.
br /Meaning, the US-version has this nice box with a lid and without any "blu" in the artwork.
br /But the UK-version they put into a simple sleeve with the same artwork (only made shiny) and added the ugly blu-bar.
br /
br /Another difference is also that the US-boxes, the individual cases, are those "slim" versions,
br / and the UK-box has those more regular BD-boxes.
br /Also, apparently the US-version has a Digital Copy of one of the films.
br /But I don't really care about either of those issues.
br /
br /I really prefer the US-version though, and I don't understand why they can't release it the same everywhere.
br /I guess it kind of shows the price-difference, but the price is also not bad for the UK-version right from the release.
br /
br /So, good set, but the US-version, in my opinion, is done better.
