Taylor (Worcester UK.) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful The second series of Jennifer Saunders subtle and endearing comedy/drama, (yes, drama!), continues where the first left off, seeing all the members of the original series reunited. (Joanna Lumley however makes a spectacular "exit" early on). br /If anything, this series is an improvement on the first, mainly i think because the charecters are so rounded and developed, thanks to the writers incredible perseption in peoples everyday lives and interaction. Some tough issues are tackled here and some quite dark undercurrents are briefly exposed at moments almost deisgned to shock, this said, even those are handled with sensitivety and humour. br /This collection; six episodes in total, benefit enormously from re-watching, like Victoria Wood's "Dinnerladies", it matures and the watcher appreciates more of the skill in the writers and actors talents with each repeated viewing. br /Criminally ignored by and large when first transmitted, now you can sit back, relax, and like a good book, soak it all up at a leasurely pace....bliss! br /(The third series is being scripted at the moment and should be out early next year). jam and jerusalem 2 August 9, 2009 Paul Mccarthy loved the series so much i had to buy the dvd.. i did try to buy it on blue ray but it didn't seem to be released on blue ray what a shame but br /Product arrived on time and in perfect condition so no complaints A STUNNING GENTLY COMEDY THAT WARMS THE HEART! August 10, 2009 Mr. Nathan Armstrong the second series is even better than the first, maybe because you get to know the characters, but its full of laughs and has a certain feelgood factor to the whole thing! br / br /sue johnson shines as ever as the central character Sal Vine, and her ongoing tribulations - with a hippy daughter, a less than tactful G.P. son, and the local woman's guild!!! br / br /the all star cast includes br / br /jennifer saunders as the toffy nose lady of the manor who has her own meaning to words, dawn french as the marvellously split personality rosie/margaret, pauline mclynn as the middle life crisis pit..the list goes on and on!!! br / br /sadly joanna lumley as the truely amazing delilah exits in episode one, but it is hilarious!!! br / br /it may not be cutting edge but has a wonderful simple charm that warms the cockles of your heart!
