Amazon.co.uk Review
Jim Carrey does wonders with a slight premise that finds his reserved, emotionally-distant character, Carl Allen, a banker who routinely turns down loan applications, accepting a challenge to open up to life by saying "yes" to everything. A man who constantly disappoints friends by weaseling out of opportunities for bonding and happiness, Carl radically changes into a creature of complete spontaneity. By never saying no anymore, he gets into situations with unpredictable outcomes, such as driving a homeless stranger to a scary-looking park at night. But for the most part, whatever Carl says yes to becomes a road to worthwhile experiences, even receiving a promotion at work for approving hundreds of micro-loans against all policy. Zooey Deschanel, who often plays appealing kooks, is very good as Carl's girlfriend, a free spirit who takes to his positivity about everything, for a while anyway. Director Peyton Reed (iDown with Love/i) makes the most out of the gimmicky comedy, as does Carrey, who does wonders with scenes that are often left open-ended just to see what the brilliant comic will do with them. --iTom Keogh/i

5 out of 5 stars Puts the Skip into your step.   December 27, 2008

The other review by Anna says what I'm about to say far more articulately. br / br /However, for your own condensed pleasure (without the details); this film will soon be on at least 1 or 2 self help reading/viewing lists. It's one of those films that makes you look back at yourself and your life (during the film) and offers you a different perspective with a lasting solution, before you leave at the end. br / br /I watched this film yesterday, put the zing back into my smile, the sparkle back into my eye and that extra kick into my step. And still feeling good today about it. br / br /A must see.

5 out of 5 stars Another Top Carrey Film!   April 28, 2009

This film has everything you require from Jim Carrey, laughs and love. This film is an excellent alrounder in which Jim Carrey puts in another great performance giving many laughs, and although the film might not be as funny as some of his other films, it is still a great laugh. br / br /The concept of saying Yes to everything is also ingenious making way for many silly situations to arise, from attracting unwanted attention from an elderly nieghbour, getting into fights, falling in love and losing a love. It is really clever, and prooves to be a really good feel good movie! br / br /Highly recommended!

Very inspiring, and funny film that wouldn't have been so good with the hilarious acting of Jim Carrey, this is a great film to watch with mates, and will give you something to think about by the end of the film, Grab life's opportunities and say YES!

This had me laughing myself silly with the briliant humour in the film. A brilliant idea based on a true story made into a great comedy. This was a great film with brilliant acting, a brilliant script and brilliant all out.
