5 out of 5 stars TopGear at it's best!   June 6, 2009

I recieved this DVD throught the post earlier today, and what can I say, it is one of the best TopGear DVDs to date and is by far the biggest volume in the Challange Series lasting 235 minutes and covering 2 discs. br / br /The DVD features some of the best challenges from the last few series including the British Leyland Challenge, the race across Japan and the Lorrying Challenge. Like the previous volume each challenge has it's own DVD chapter allowing you to easily select the challenge you wish to watch. br / br /The DVD feature many laughout loud moments, and if you choose one TopGear DVD to own, I'd recomend this as it consists of some really entertaining footage which is certainly worth the watch! and in addition to the main features you get several extra features including; the Cool Wall uncut, an extended interview with Boris Johnson, extended coverage of the Top Gear awards, and rides with Stig. br / br /The only little niggle, is I hope that one of these DVDs will have the van challenge on where Hammond tipped his van, but apart from that, this is top notch TV. br / br /This is an ideal DVD for any TopGear fan!

5 out of 5 stars Amy's Back!!! Amy's Back!!! No wait... Top Gear's Back!!!   August 18, 2009

Back again with Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow that put their own lives to the limit and beyond in these challenges that have proved quite dangerous, funny, extreme and painful (if you argue your case when going through a brick wall in a truck perhaps...). Top Gear: The Challenges 3 is considered alone to be worth buying by the name itself because when facing the fact, we know the challenges are the best part of Top Gear and no one can really forget it at the same time when viewing such a challenge. br / br /Continuing the theme from the Second Top Gear Challenges DVD, the Menus are animated in the view of Jeremy's truck, the scene selections is still perfect and there are still no cuts in the challenges. Sound like Top Gear heaven? It gets better to the list of challenges including the Cheap Alfas, British Leyland Challenge, Race Across Japan, Top Gear Vs The Germans, The Lorrying Challenge, Richard's F1 Challenge, Fox Hunting and Bus Racing. All of these challenges has got tremendous amount of humour and laughter to fill you up with and so many comments that never fail to raise the smile even more. br / br /For 235 minute's of Top Gear, what more can be included, I don't know maybe a second disc for the first time giving more Extra's? Why yes they did, on a second disc you get the Cool Wall Uncut, the Boris Johnson Extended Interview, The Top Gear Awards Extended Version, Spitfire Magic and the many rides with The Stig. The DVD is the most structured of most Top Gear DVD's seen so far and yes it does include subtitles and a aspect ratio of 16:9. br / br /All in all, this is the best Top Gear Challenges DVD release so far, the only downside anyone can complain about is that the challenge with the long title that goes along the lines of this:"Make a police car for a lot less money than the real police spend on their cars challenge" Isn't included sadly and is annoying as I loved this one. Perhaps when they release a forth one they might include this one then, one can never know. But mainly, it's a brilliant release and like any other Top Gear fan, this should be part of your own collection.

5 out of 5 stars Ambitious, not rubbish!   June 8, 2009

The Top Gear challenges are fun to watch over and over again, and this is a compilation of some of the best races and tests from the recent series. Three rubbish Alfas, the BL buckets, and a race across Japan - it's not the winning or succeeding (the challenges are always 'ambitious - but rubbish', after all), but the hysterics along the way. Some of my favourite moments include May refusing to tow Hammond's broken Spider any further after being rear-ended once too often; Clarkson jubilantly shouting 'Amy's back! Amy's back!' when he manages to reactivate his disabled satnav in Tokyo; and Hammond teasing Clarkson about his fawning interview with Will Young in the extended Top Gear awards bonus feature. Fantastic. (I only wish there were more challenges to watch on DVD - where's the Blackpool race, or the caravanning holiday?)
