The big story of World War II in the small country of Denmark July 12, 2009 Niels 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is one of the most expensive productions in danish film history, end the money sure is well spent.
br /
br /For me it was a peak into the darker side of the story of the danish resistance movement. As it shows out, the heroes of the past often did'nt really know what they were doing. They just had to follow their guts.
br /
br /The film is full of action, but stays in close contact with the historical facts.
A superb film about Danish Resistance agents against the Nazis! August 3, 2009 Archangel (Europe) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is an excellent film about a Resistance to the Nazis during their occupation of Denmark.
br /It contains a very powerful message that not all Danes were collaborators or "Quislings".
br /Mads Mikkelsen and Thure Lindhardt are superb as Bent Flame and Jorgen Citron.
br /Mikkelsen can always be associated as playing "Le Chiffre" in James Bond 007 - Casino Royale but his performance in this film outshines 007!
br /Look out for Christian Berkel as the Gestapo Chief, Hoffmann.
br /One of the endings is particulary moving and very sad when an agent fights to the very last and never surrenders despite all the odds against him.
br /For those of you who love Scandinavian movies and stories be they true or not, Hollywood couldn't produce a movie like this!
br /I saw this movie in the cinema and decided I would buy it because it is so unique.
Flammen og Citronen (Flame and Citron) July 21, 2009 Mr. Richard J. Pratt 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
There has been a number of DVDs about resistance movements in occupied countries during WW2. This one relates to Denmark and I was interested to see this DVD having read a book 'The Giant Killers' by John Oram Thomas about the Danish Resistance Movement 1940/5. I was not disappointed. However this film only deals with a small part of the Resistance Movement and is confined to Copenhagen.
Flame and Citron July 11, 2009 Mkeegan (Hindhead,UK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Great film - captures the ambiguity of occupation when you didnt know who to trust and betrayal was all around. Thank heavens for people like this who resisted the Nazis and their collaborators. A Cat and Mouse thriller at break neck speed around the streets of German Occupied Copenhagen.

Very fast delivery with a good price, a very good film if you like war films, dubbing not always my favourite but it works with this film.
