Editorial Reviews: Amazon.co.uk Review Easily one of the most interesting and unusual science fiction shows of recent times, IFringe/I comes from J.J. Abrams, the very same man who had a hand in ILost/I, IAlias/I and the quite brilliant recent IStar Trek/I movie reboot. And while this may be lower profile than some of those projects, itrsquo;s nonetheless equally as worthy of attention. p The central concept is actually quite similar to IThe X-Files/I, with a core of three main characters investigating what they call âfringe sciencersquo;. This manifests itself with a series of unusual situations and happenings, that the team proceed to investigate and try and get to the bottom of. p The IFringe/I crew consists of FBI Special Agent Olivia Dunham, Peter Bishop and the quite brilliant creation that is his father, Walter Bishop. Walter, played expertly by John Noble, is like every mad scientist in the world wrapped into one wonderful character, and IFringe/I is often at its strongest when hersquo;s is stage centre. p This first season of IFringe/I runs for 20 episodes, all of which are included on this set, and it does occasionally struggle to find its feet. Thatrsquo;s no surprise given the showrsquo;s infancy, but it also hits some spectacularly good highs, including a marvellous cameo in the season finale thatrsquo;d be remiss to spoil here. It also throws in a smart underlying narrative, and leaves things finally poised for the already-commissioned second season. I have seen the first series abroad which has been out for some time and purchased on dvd but unfortunately left dvd,s abroad due to a fault of mine. i,ve been searching for fringe ever since then but i,ve had no luck of finding it in the uk as we get these a while later than other countries. Sci-fi fans will love this. its gripping,original and just too addictive to miss out on. i will pre order the series on dvd as soon as we are in september. The fact that its on blue ray is even more exciting.. I can say i havent seen any tv series like this to compare it to. Lets try and give you a hint by saying best parts of lost, csi and the excitement of back to the future movies when it was first relised. Absolutely love it... Best show on TV October 31, 2009 S. It had the strange cases of the x Files along with the character building that J.J.Aberams is famous for. Seeing it again on full 1080p resolution for any fan new or old is a must!
