| Customer Reviews: The dead sold me! October 11, 2009 BonzoDog (UK) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
An 18th Century convicted grave robber spends his final hours recalling the mysterious events that led to his and his mentors arrest... Supernatural happenings await.

br /I watched this film knowing very little about it, and as of succumbing to the majority of so-called horror/comedies of late was not expecting too much from it either.
br /Clique as this may sound, from the very beginning I was hooked, this is a period drama in parody form. It manages to pull off the rare feat of actually doing what it says on the tin. It's funny and creepy at the same time.
br /The sets are stunning, the acting is fine and fluid, and the story line is refreshingly different.
br /
br /People will either love this or hate it, though I must say, if you are a fan of films like "Evil Dead" "Cemetery Man" "Sleepy Hollow" or especially Peter Jackson's "Braindead"," The Frighteners", I should imagine you'll love this!
br /Sure it has some trivial plot-holes, and maybe a couple of unnecessary moments, but it's a great attempt at bringing back the classics by way of adding something new.
br /
br /For the horror buffs there's Angus Scrimm (The Tall Man of "Phantasm" fame) in the cast list, also Ron Perlman in his best Irish accent to date, and Larry Fessenden of "Session 9" who steals the show. The rest of the cast play it nicely OTT and Dominic Monaghan is a decent lead with plenty of enthusiasm.
br /The Homage to iconic horror films is so nice to see, there's a hint of Frankenstein and Dracula, and a scene that's so close to the "Evil Dead" you'll wonder just what you are watching. What an effort by all involved.
br /
br /This is a low budget production to be admired, and am sure it (and Writer/Director Glenn McQuaid) will gain the credit once established thoroughly.
br /If you're looking for a silly supernatural dark comedy that's really fun, watch this!.
