Amazon.co.uk Review Actor Larry Bishop, who made his name in the '60s as the star of biker pictures like iThe Savage Seven/i revives the genre with iHell Ride/i, a rough and raunchy action-drama produced by indie director and cult film aficionado Quentin Tarantino. Bishop, who wrote, produced and directed the film, is also top-billed as Pistolero, chief of the outlaw Victors, who cruise the sun-baked Southwest to avenge a fallen mama. Their target is Billy Wings (Vinnie Jones), head man for the Six-Six-Sixes, and Michael Madsen, David Carradine and Dennis Hopper (himself no stranger to biker flicks) are along to make sure that the job is completed. As pure exploitation, Hell Ride delivers the goods: the cast overacts with relish, and the on-screen excitement is divided equally between chopper action, fistfights and shootouts and plentiful female nudity, all set to a soundtrack of new and vintage fuzztone rock. However, those expecting the complexity and sheer cheek of Tarantino's own features may find the picture a little too retro-minded for their own tastes, and Bishop's pulpy dialogue is more overcooked than Tarantino at his most self-indulgent. Still, those craving old-school cycle movie satisfaction are likely to find that action with iHell Ride/i. -- iPaul Gaita /i

ignore previous critic...
br /for anyone who loves biker films and the raw expression of pure blistering desert outback locations, treasure seeking, on the road freedom of expression and naked sexy stupidity - this is pure lust in the dust!
br /it just doesn't get any better - genius...
hell ride November 12, 2009 Mr. C. Sutton The words "Quentin Tarantino Presents..." don't always guarantee a quality film (the wretched 'Hostel', for e.g.) but 'Hell Ride' definitely lives up to the legacy of that director's masterpiece Pulp Fiction. In fact for me, it's better than any Tarantino film since Pulp Fiction. Set up as a revenge movie about 2 groups of aging bad-boy bikers, it's not a deep or especially meaningful film, and it knows it isn't. What 'Hell Ride' is, is a psychadelic sleaze-fest, dripping with blood, beer, and babes. The audacity of it will either make you cringe or make your jaw drop, depending on which side your cinematic bread is buttered. I can see there's a lot of one star reviews which is fair enough but I personally thought this was 80 minutes of butt-kicking greatness, at times reminiscent of Russ Meyer's 'Faster Pussycat Kill!Kill!' as well as Tarantino at his best. (Hell Ride is actually directed by Larry Bishop. I'm not entirely sure to what extent Quentin Tarantino's involvement was in this one). Larry Bishop, Michael Madsen, Dennis Hopper, and the smoking hot Leonor Varela put in great, seedy performances, and even the unwanted presence of Vinnie Jones with his complete fail of an american accent can't put out the fireworks. Big film, very gory as well. 5 stars
Very entertaining. September 25, 2009 Mr. R. S. Eden (Poole, Dorset United Kingdom) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Not the best biker film I've ever seen, but a very good one. Lots of gratuitous and explicit violence (not for the faint-hearted), lots of beautiful women and explicit sex, and some VERY nice bikes. Dennis Hopper gets to ride a beautiful old Indian outfit.
br /
br /The plot is very convoluted, as we expect from Quentin Tarrantino, about mature bikers looking for revenge and buried treasure. It is a very funny film although it is possible to lose sight of the comedy amongst all of the blood and gore.
br /
br /It's well worth watching, if only for Dennis Hopper on top form as a manic and devious old villain.
br /
br /And the soundtrack by Davie Allen is excellent. I hope they release a soundtrack album.
VERY ENTERTAINING - BUT A BIT SHORT October 2, 2009 Lou Almighty 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Usually I would have avoided this film, as I am not a fan of biker films, but the with a cast like this I thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed. HELL RIDE gets right to the point. With a runtime of only 80 minutes I found it rather short. Vinnie Jones and especially the recently deceased (God bless him) David Carradine have rather short appearances, which is a pity. Before you know it, the end credits are rolling.
br /Still, I liked this film quite a lot and I can recommend it, if you like bike films or if you like any of the cast.

Cool bikes, hot women, great soundtrack and lots of riding through the desert. What's not to like?
