Amazon.co.uk Review This volume contains seasons 1-4 of iBones/i.p/p bSeason 4/b: A show that continues to go from strength to strength, IBones/I is based around the character of forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (a creation of author Kathy Reichs) and FBI Special Agent Seely Booth, who between them must use forensic science to get to the bottom of some particularly gruesome crimes. p Season four of IBones/I finds the show in particularly rich form. Brennan and Booth have a variety of different cases to tackle, as yoursquo;d expect, backed up with exposition about earlier events and many interesting new developments. Itrsquo;d be remiss to spoil them here, but IBones/I, to its credit, manages to be as fresh and as interesting as when it first arrived. p What helps gives the show a distinction is its marriage of genres. At its heart, itrsquo;s a hard-nailed crime show, but it effortlessly weaves in comedy, romance and some very impressive twists, with an undercurrent of unpredictability that serves it well. The writers clearly had their thinking caps on for season four, too, and while there are one or two lulls, theyrsquo;re easily compensated for by some very impressive episodes. The relationship between Brennan and Booth clearly sits at the core of the show, and even that--appreciating that television has taken us down similar roads in the past--is interesting to watch, and well realised. p IBones/I might, at first glance, be easy to dismiss as just another crime show. But therersquo;s genuinely impressive work going on here, and some very smart writing. If itrsquo;s at this level of quality four seasons in, then IBones/I has a very bright future ahead of it. --IJon Foster/I

| Customer Reviews: Enjoy the best double act on tv today October 26, 2009 Blackhorse47 (Moray, Scotland) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I came to this show late through the route I guess many do of reading a Kathy Reichs novel, finding it more fun than Patricia Cornwell's more well known tales about a forensic pathologist, then moving on to the series that shares a name, if not much else, with her main character. I've been catching up quickly.

br /You can instantly see what they're going for here. Moonlighting meets CSI would go the pitch, and it's probably one that'd stop me watching as CSI is too cold and plot-driven for me. But this series gets the balance right between quirky believable characters and involving mystery stories, all topped up with some nicely underplayed and clever humour.

br /Bones, the forensic pathologist, is a great creation, being brilliant but socially inept, making her instantly fascinating. Her male sparring partner Booth, the FBI agent, is often saddled with doing the 'could you please explain that' role for the benefit of explaining stuff to the viewers. But the rest of the time his inspired deductive leaps help to create the classic chemistry-filled two part approach to crime solving from the main leads of heart versus mind that drives all the best cop shows.

br /The supporting actors play their small but necessary roles excellently, especially the even more brilliant and even more socially inept Zack. And with on-going arc stories, this is an excellent show filled with intelligent people that can be happily watched night after night. Best of all the show keeps developing and so remains fresh. With it already renewed for another 2 seasons after these seasons, I'm sure this'll run for a while yet, and that's good news for lovers of quality tv series.
Great TV show January 4, 2010 Attila Miklosi (Budapest, Hungary) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The greatest tv show ever. Somehow the characters, the story and everything else fit together in a very amusing way...
