This is going to be one of the best blu-ray box sets to be released so far. These movies are up there with the greatest dramas of all time and from what I have heard the blu-ray transfer is very good. br / br /It has been encoded in the Mpeg-4 format which is the best video format for blu-rays out there. These movies have also been given the best soundtrack available on blu-ray as they will all have the lossless DTS-HD Master Audio. br / br /I personaly cannot wait for this box set to be released and I can gaurantee high quality picture on all of these movies.

Anybody know if the very first Rocky in this set which was originally produced in Dec 05, 2006 been remastered. Blu-ray.com gives the video a 3 star with washed out color. br /If is has been redone, I'm in. br / br / br /

Well i knew some people wouldnt be happy with the transfers on this release. These days everyone exp[ects nr perfection but it just aint gonna happen all the time and especially with the budget and age of ome of these films. Yes the transfers are not the best but still are all a definate upgrade from the dvd..if you want eye candy then rent Transformers but this is quite nice all the same br / br /Rocky 1 is the same transfer that came out a few yrs back and they havent changed a thing. there is a decent level of grain which gives the movie a filmlike quality but definaition,clarity and some colours all show improvement from the dvd and actually looks quite resonable given the budget and stock this film was made on br / br /Rocky 2 looks a lot better and is pretty decent all round but again anyone expecting eye candy is gonna be disappoiinted br / br /Rocky 3 is the worst of the bunch i have to say. Heavy heavy grain and digital noise permiate a lot of scenes whilst some others look halfway decent. Definately substandard by a long shot. Very disappointing. br / br /Rocky 4 is maybe the strongest of the old movies and looks quite nice indeed br / br /Rocky 5 is a step back again but still is definately improved over any past versions br / br /Rocky balboa is the same wonderful transfer that we got a couple of yrs back and if it aint broke don't fix it. Lovelly contrast,steely blues and a great s/track to boot! br / br /Ignore anyone who says that these are complete trash..they arent.. but like i said these are not eye candy stellar releases.

I have waited with great anticipation for this release finally recieved it today. What a disappointment!!! Picture quality is no better than that of the box set I purchased a number of years ago....OK so the movies are almost 30 years old but if they cannot get a picture of improved quality they should not package this as a blu ray conversion.
