4 out of 5 stars Brilliant bouncy RB funky pop!   December 14, 2001

This album is great. If your not a fan of early 90's RB/Pop then stay clear. But if you are this is an absolute must. 'Videology' is addictive as is the sexy 'Rush Rush' the only real UK hit off this album. Any smoother and that track would be whipped cream. 'Promise Of A New Day', the opener is another high point of the album. Fan's of her first album will definatly enjoy this strong follow up.

4 out of 5 stars Charming collection of songs   December 6, 2002

Spellbound was a worthy follow-up to Forever Your Girl, comprising as it does a charming and diverse collection of songs. It includes a dash of rap in the form of Rock House, nice ballads like Rush Rush and blowing Kisses In The Wind, great dance numbers like To You and U, and some funk in Vibeology. All the songs on this album bear the stamp of Paula's characteristic passion and dedication - The sprightly U was written by Prince. This album amply demonstrates Abdul's multifaceted talent: her total creative involvement and passionate commitment to her music are evident throughout. It will have you tapping your feet and singing along in no time.
