Amazon.co.uk Review
iSo Far So Good/i offers up 13 of his previous hits plus a new song, "Please Forgive Me", a gooey, Michael Bolton-like ballad. The album starts out with "Summer of 69", the appealing autobiographical song about the 10-year-old Adams learning to play his first guitar in Ontario, and includes "(Everything I Do) I Do for You", the synth-laced ballad that wound up in the Guinness Book of World Records after topping the British singles charts for 16 weeks. With its over-the-top, gravelly vocals, iSo Far So Good/i reminds one of Rod Stewart's 1980s work when he was coasting on past achievements. Unfortunately, Adams has never had a period like Stewart's glory years in the 1970s. i--Geoffrey Himes/i

5 out of 5 stars Apart from having 2 ballads at the end . . .   October 18, 2003

. . . it's still worth 5 stars. A good collection of Mr Adams stuff, before he really lost the plot, musically.pStarting off with "Summer of '69" and moving on through "It's Only Love" with Tina Turner, "Run To You", "Cut's Like A Knife" "Kids Wanna Rock", things are on a consistant high.pIn truth the slow stuff doesn't spoil things. The reason being that he does them so well. Despite being at number one for 3 or 4 years(!) "(Everything I Do) I Do It FOr You" is an excellant song. "Heat OF The Night" is full of enough emotion to stand on it's feet and "Please Forgive Me" brings things to a pleasing close.pMuch better than the next Best Of, and well worth singing along to at the top of your voice, in an open car(!)

An excellent collection of rock anthems and ballads. From the heart warming Everything I do, I do it for you to the foot-stamping Summer of 69, the full range is covered and covered brilliantly! Whether you are a Bryan Adams fan or not, you are almost guaranteed to know at least half of the songs on this album. And, if not you will soon find something that appeals to your tastes. This really is great rock and is likely to become a favorite in any collection!
