5 out of 5 stars ZZ - TOP...........turn up the grooves !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   May 12, 2007

These songs alone would have made Eliminator one of ZZ Top's three greatest albums, their embrace of Rock-synths and sequencers make this a blockbuster filled with hits pure Energy. It's still an excellent ZZ Top album, whether Fans or blues purists alike believe it or not, definitely one of their best, thanks in part to their unflaggingly accurate grooves timing. Then again, that's part of the album's charm, this is new wave blues-rock,looking as good as the omnipresent convertible on the cover, not really the sort of old-school album blues-rock purists will love or appreciate,But one heck of a fun groove-licious album to rock your sound system to

5 out of 5 stars Boogie - with 3 Beards ! ! !   July 18, 2000

ZZ Top's previous albums had been eclectic to say the least, but always with that down south ingredient. Deguelo (short classy) El Loco (short patchy) didn't really give notice of what was to come. What was to come was this - a world-wide breakthrough of stunning proportions and songs of any young man's dream. Legs, Got Me Under Pressure, Sharp Dressed Man, Gimme All Your Lovin' If I Could Only Flag Her Down. These were offset with the soulful blues of I Need You Tonight - giving air to the truth that despite all the flashiness, these men still needed a woman's company - and boy, do we agree with that sentiment. Still the boyishness of it all was given full reign in the closer Bad Girl - a cry of despair, but with some wishful thinking thrown in for good measure. A classic album still to play air guitar to. Play it loud - it won't upset the neighbours(!) . . . Brilliant!

Well what can I say...Brilliant album from the great Texan#x27;s themselves. It will always be floating around every Auction site from Amazon to Ebid. Everyone should own a copy and listen to it regular. Power chords at their best and all great songs. If you don#x27;t own it....you should.

1 out of 5 stars THE TOP GO 'POP' AND IT SUCKS!   June 28, 2006

This is where ZZtop lost all credibility with me. Hard to believe that this is the same band that made 'rio grande' or 'tres hombres' the writing was on the wall with the album before but at least it had 'ten foot pole' but this it sucks from beginning to end. Sure it made big bucks but at what price? stuff like 'legs' and 'gimmee all your lovin'' are so bland and lacking in inspiration that its an insult to southern rock. Sure the girls are great in the video's but that's about it. It's that insipid drum beat that really irritates -the same throughout like an awful beat box and even Billy Gibbons guitar work is formalic. This is nothing but rock music for the MTV generation and it stinks-just like the next album which was even worse. Don't look for high octane boogie on this because you won't find it!
