The best of the hottest band in the world!!! February 11, 2002 2 out of 9 found this review helpful
I've only been a KISS fan for about a year now but I have a pretty good collection of their cd's. I have a few of their compilation CD's, such as Greatest, Greatest Hits, Double Platinum and of course, the Alive series. Now in my eyes, apart from the up and coming Alive 4, no individual CD could beat Alive 3, but KISS Greatest Hits comes very close to doing this. This is one of their newest CD's and it carries 20 of the most popular songs, all of which are great. With songs like Crazy Nights, Detroit Rock City and the ever popular Love Gun, it is a great CD even for those people starting out as a KISS fan. So if your a die hard fan or just new to the KISS Army, even if you have the Greatest CD, this is a must. This CD covers most of their 30 year old journey on one CD, although it's not in order, it's still fun.
Kiss are THE greatest rock band December 7, 2000 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kiss prove that they can handle guitars better than damn near every band out there. The songs are all brilliant, except the mellower beth which is still good in its own way. The best riffs are in crazy, crazy nights and detroit rock city. A classic album full of classic rock 'n roll.
Setting the record straight October 18, 2005 Nicola Crookes (Bradford) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
This isn't really a review, more of a response to the views expressed by M A Kelley (see review further down). I just wanted to set the record straight, for anyone intending to buy this. brThe tracks on this CD are probably re-mastered, but otherwise pretty much Identical to the original album tracks. (Detroit Rock City has had the annoying Car Crash Intro removed, but the actual song is the same). The Tracks he mentioned, Black Diamond and Deuce are Identical to the Original versions on 'KISS', so please do not be put off thinking that these are updated or altered. (Perhaps he is mistaking the album tracks for live versions) brAs it stands, this album is a great intro to early KISS, with most of the more popular recognised songs. For a band with over 30 albums, you're never going to please everyone with your song choices, but at 20 tracks it's good value for money. I'm hoping that one day we'll see 'Greatest Hit's Vol 2', with more songs from the Carr, Kulick, Singer, etc. years.
The best greatest hits package, but its lacking... November 12, 2005 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a very good greatest hits package, probably the best released to date because it recognises some of the bands more unusual hits, ie. Crazy Crazy Nights (the most underrated KISS tune). Essentially they#x27;re all here; Deuce, Detroit Rock City, I Was Made For Lovin#x27; You, God Gave Rock... and Rock n Roll All Nite for instance, but you have to wonder why tracks such as Shout It Out Loud, Let Me Go Rock And Roll and Into The Void were left out, yet Plaster Caster, Hotter Than Hell and Sure Know Something were included.pAs has been mentioned, I eagerly await a volume 2 in this series, as there#x27;s so much more story to tell. For now, though, definately buy this as its a great starting point.
Kiss Kiss and Kiss them some more April 12, 2001 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
Kiss. Not the most most popular band in Britain. But thats not because they're talents are mediocra - on the contary, the foursome are very talented. The reasons for their obscurity in our shores is due to a lack of puplicity. They never really came over here so this compilation is a great way to catch up on those missed years. Whats refreshing about this band of Knights in Satans Service (KISS)is the fact that they all have a turn in singing lead - a rare thing in a stadium rock group. Each voice pulls off its designated songs well. The songs: some you know only by tune and others you'll never have come across but dont let that put you off. The final track will be instantly recognisable to anyone who was there for Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey - God Gave Rock'n'Roll To You. Top song with it anthem status. My final word is simply this - buy this album, grab a tennis raket and prepare yourself for some serious air guitar sessions.
