5 out of 5 stars Destination Anywhere 2CD Version   December 18, 2004

This is truely a fantastic second solo effort from Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi, without sounding a bit like Blaze Of Glory or, in fact, any Bon Jovi record up untill then.pOn This album, JBJ is not screaming and yelling punchy vocals such as he would on Slippery When Wet or New Jersey, he is much more chilled and relaxed, which pretty much describes the style of the album. It's sounds ranges from funky rock numbers (Queen Of New Orleans, Ugly, Naked), to the more oozing, haunting ballads (It's Just Me, Cold Hard Heart), and then experimenting much like U2 of the 90's with certain drum beats within songs like Learning How To Fall and Midnight In Chelsea (However, it is not too excess to put of any hard rock fans).pThere are some classic Bon Jovi band melodies are here, though the lyrics are also much more personal toward Jon and much more touching and heartfelt and some of which many can relate to.pThere is also a 2nd Cd full of live tracks with this version, which is great to hear and see how those songs are brought to life. (But hurry, there ain't many left!!)pFor Bon Jovi fans, this is a great album and a rightfully diverse move for Jon Bon Jovi. For non-fans, strictly hard-rock fans, or those who are just plain curious, it's still worth a listen. Don't expect Bad Medicine or You Give Love A Bad Name. In fact, don't "expect" anything. Just listen!
