Amazon.co.uk Review
Joining a cadre of similar-sounding and conceptually cloned efforts, Foxy Brown's iChyna Doll/i takes its place among a field of equally mundane offerings. While Brown has shown some maturation, especially on cuts like the surprisingly personal "My Life", she's still talking about her "ill na na" ("Tramp") or making pretentious bids for big Willie (Wilma?) status ("4-5-6"). Mostly, though, iChyna Doll/i just sounds like any number of New York-based rap albums, especially with its commercial formula of shuffling high hats, catchy hooks, and recycled funk loops. In the end, Brown's self-exploitive (sexually and racially) cover art is likely to offer more provocative statements than the album itself. i--Oliver Wang /i

5 out of 5 stars Hot Spot!   August 24, 2004

This album is really great and I soooo disagree with that other review!pThis is Foxy's second album and although it may not top her first album - the excellent Ill na na - it's still a really good album.pAfter the intro the first two tracks ("Chyna white" and "My life") are great, they have Foxy rapping over two strong beats and then the third track is the excellent single "Hot spot" produced by Irv Gotti.brThen you have track 5 "Dog and a Fox" featuring DMX, this really has that DMX sound to it and both Fox and X go at each other on the song.brThe next track (along with track 16) is a skit and is quite funny. After this you have two songs which have hooks sung by Mya (on "J.O.B.") and Total (on "I can't") and they are both great songs probably the best two on the album. pAlso on the album are some more great collaborations including Jay. Z, Beanie siegel, N.O.R.E and more.brAll of the other songs on the album are great but more stand-out tracks would be a cover of Salt-n-pepa's "Tramp" and the ladies anthem "BWA" featuring Mia X and Gangsta Boo.pThis is a great album and if you liked her first album then you'll like this and the same goes if you have her third album and not this. But for everyone else I still strongly recommend it as it is a great hip-hop album.

4 out of 5 stars Not a bad album .   May 29, 2008

Not a bad album . If you are familiar with Foxy , then you know what to expect . Not quite as good as " Broken Silence " , but still worth a listen .

1 out of 5 stars Get "Broken Silence" instead...it's a damn sight better!!!   December 25, 2003

I bought this album and it is pretty dull. I've listend to it loads hoping it'd be a grower but....it aint. There is a tiresome collabo with Jay-z (bonnie and clyde) the album is almost saved by "Job" featuring Mya and "I can't" but thats scraping the barrel. im sorry to post such a derogarory review because Foxys "Broken Silence" is so tight.
