Prince Charming Lives! July 28, 2003 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I grew up in the 80's and loved Adam And The Ants, and this collection is quite frankly a must have for anyone of a certain age. Buy it, sing along, tap your feet and remember a time when you could wear all the contents of your makeup bag at once.
The genius has lasted longer than the beauty. September 25, 2000 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Compilations and Best of albums are usually just record company cynicism rising to the surface and trying, usually successfully, to goad the innocent fan into parting with his/her money. If you only buy one compilation this lifetime, then you will not find better than this. Spanning well over a decade, and a plethora of styles, this album is guaranteed to incite foot-tapping and humming along from even the most staunch 80s-phobic amongst you. Perhaps the only real complaint is that most of the tracks have been heard before too many times; one or two more album tracks, or surprises, would have been welcome, to satisfy everybody. Yet you can't have it all, and for anybody who is in no way a collector, or even those too young to remember the originals, this is a fantastic introduction to one of the eighties true pop-stars. Adam, did I tell you you're wonderful...?
Very good May 21, 2000 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As you can see this CD has been well received by lots of people. Me included. OK I hated Antmusic at the time, but now in retrospect its clear to see why so many rave about this collection. If you remember Adams hits you really should give it a listen. Stunning.
wow!! July 20, 2003 kathryn (england) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
oh my god! this album is fantastic!! i'm only 15 so wasn't around when Adam and the Ants were, but thankfully i watched channel 4's documentary - 'Adam Ant: The Madness Of Prince Charming' not so long ago and fell in love with the tracks i heard, so i went out and bought this album and i'm so pleased i did! such a fab selection of songs, all different which is great. there's definately a song for everyone, i think there's only 'wonderful' that i'm not very keen on, every other song is totally brilliant, i've read on other people's reviews that this is the best 'very best of...' album they've heard and i couldn't agree more, a must have for everyone's CD collection.
Hooray for the 80's!! December 3, 1999 sp.brown@virgin.net (Stevenage, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am overjoyed to be writing a review for this album! And, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one having a good old 80's flashback, and what better album to do it with? There's a little something for everyone on this CD, for those who only remember the hits (Prince Charming, Stand and Deliver) to the not so well know B sides (Young Parisians, Friends) and even those solo hits (Wonderful). It's good to see that fine music can still be appreciated!!
