Amazon.co.uk Review Few comebacks in rock and roll history have been as amazing as that of Aerosmith. Their triumphant return to the charts in the 1980s not only rekindled the band's earlier success, but also significantly surpassed it. With their top 20 hits "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)", "Ragdoll", and the top 10 power ballad, "Angel", the group proved they had even more fire left in their fight than anyone could have imagined. Leaving behind its reckless lifestyle, the band sacrificed none of their rowdy rock and roll. "Ragdoll" and "Love in an Elevator" built upon Aerosmith's raunchy blues approach to hard rock, complete with singer Steven Tyler's howl in the best form of his career. iBig Ones/i includes these rockers along with the spooky Grammy-winner "Jamie's Got a Gun", and the slower but still hard-edged "Crazy". Other high points of the new and improved band are reflected in "The Other Side" and the anthem "Eat the Rich". i--Steve Gdula/i

A Big One from Aerosmith February 16, 2000 marksmith33@yahoo.com (Ireland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This being Aerosmith's second compilation album, it had a lot to live up to, but certainly surpassed the first 'Greatest Hits' by pumping out such classic rock numbers like 'Love in an Elevator', 'Crazy' and the excellent 'Livin on the Edge', and supplying, as all rock bands seem to, the best ballads around such as 'What it Takes'. This album is a must for all Aerosmith fans and those unfamiliar with any of their previous works. One of those rare albums you'll want to listen to without skipping a song. 10 out of 10.

It is a Big OneýA Big Number One! November 15, 1999 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
WOW!! What an energetic album. Aerosmith has taken rock music to a new level with this compilation. This album boasts to include their latest and greatest - and I couldn't agree more. It seems as if every song they put out hits number one, so when they put together all their singles on one album...you can only imagine the impact . It is an album for any occasion from road trips, to wok outs at the gym to party music at your own home. It includes base-pumping, well-known tunes such as : Love in an elevator, Rag doll, Dude (looks like a lady), Janie's got a gun and Livin' on the edge. But who can forget the number on ballads which Steven Tyler belts out such as Cryin', Amazing, Crazy and Angel. Big Ones makes a super gift for any music fan - including yourself!
Superlative Collection December 17, 2000 This is one of my favourite albums ever! It's a wonderful collection of some of Aerosmith's most memorable songs. There's absolutely no fillers here - every song is a hit and you won't want to skip any of them. The range of musical styles is incredible, from the rock 'n' roll of Deuces are Wild, to the moving Janie's got a Gun. All the classics are here, including the Alicia Silverstone trilogy (thank you MTV)- Cryin', Amazing and Crazy. Knocks the spots (or moss) off the Stones, in terms of vocals, guitar and all round quality of the songs. A must for everyone.
Absolutely Superb - Steve Tyler Rocks!!! January 16, 2001 This is by far the best CD I have ever purchased! A stunning collection of 15 songs, each of which is totally individual, and each with beautiful melodies, fantastic guitar chords and stunning vocals from the irripressable Steve Tyler. Tyler has lived through the ages, unlike either the Stones or Guns 'n' Roses, and I'm sure Aerosmith will live on for the forseeable future. There are no bad songs, no bad lyrics, and none of the songs get old. A must for anybody who loves rock 'n' roll! P.S: Do not take any notice of the so-callled music fan from Missoula, who gave this superb CD 2 stars. They have no sense of music in the States, not if Eminem, Leanne Rymes or N*SYNC can make a success of themselves over there!
