Diana's Early 70s Masterpiece April 11, 2005 M. Edwards (Buckinghamshire United Kingdom) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Every artist has a defining moment in their career. For Diana Ross, there have been several moments of brilliance and 1973's "Touch Me in the Morning" was one of them.pHistorically, the timing for the release of the album was of significant importance. Diana had stunned the world with her Oscar nominated and Golden Globe Award winning performance in "Lady Sings the Blues". It was time to return to the studios and the result was a collection of beautiful, timeless classics that have stood the test of time.pThe album opens with that ever popular Ross ballad, "Touch Me in the Morning" which has to rank as one of the finest pop/RB singles of the modern pop era. Diana demonstrated previously undiscovered nuances in her delivery, and displayed a talent for ballads that was fresh and exciting. Furthermore, Diana's voice was incredibly smooth, supple and dreamy. It all makes for pleasant listening.pThere are no dance cuts here, just classy ballads. My personal favourites are "Leave A Little Room", "Little Girl Blue", and "My Baby, My Own". The "Brown Baby/Save the Children" medley is awesome. "Save the Children" is quite an intense experience, with Diana singing with passion and conviction. Both tracks were produced by Ms Ross.pThis classy album should be part of the collection of any Ross fan. This was Diana at her best.
Classy soul diva reigns supreme! May 20, 2000 ianphillips@uk.dreamcast.com (BOLTON, LANCASHIRE, ENGLAND) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
The title track is easily one of the best in her entire career to date and is rightly regarded as a classic. Steering away from the usual blend of funky rn b this album is sophisticated and classy with some of her best performances captured on this disc. The haunting My baby my own) and the medley Brown Baby/save The children are the other two highlights of the album. A definite must have and a pure classic. One of the best albums by Diana Ross in a long career.
Her Best Album Ever June 20, 2001 supremes_fanatic_1976@hotmail.com (FTWorth, Texas-USA) 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
TOUCH ME IN THE MORNING has to be the best album Diana Ross ever recorded (along with a couple others in the 70's, but this one is my personal favorite). The title track is a classic, but included are the filler songs as well to this album. All Of My Life, We Need You, Leave A Little Room and my favorite Ross song of all time I Won't Last A Day Without You are such gems that these songs alone are worth buying this album. All the other tracks, including the haunting Brown Baby/Save The Children Medley make this album perfect front-to-back. I recommend this for any Ross, Motown or easy-listening fan. You won't find dance tracks on this one, but an album you can definitely relax to. From the subject content in this album, I think it is more of a reflection or introspect on motherhood and family life. Try this album and I promise you'll love it!!
One of the Best August 15, 2006 R. Gellar (Liverpool) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have to say that i am a big diana fan and have collected the majority of her solo albums either on vinyl or those remaster for cd release, and have been to several concerts however this album is one of the treasures of her collect with a few covers and i must say i do prefer her rendition to Imagine rather than Patti Labelles (live aid) or even dare i say it John Lennons! Excellent album but i do prefer her To Love Again (1981) album (return to motown since early 70's).

Diana Ross's Best Album? April 13, 2006 MJ King (Birmingham, England) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I think so. It has some great songs, some lovely singing even the one or two corny moments (like when she talks in a song) sound OK.

br /Best of a good bunch is easily Touch Me In The Morning; catchy tune, sad lyric, sweet voice, even some nice 'talking'
br /
br /Other great songs include All Of My Life (nice talking passages again), I Won't Last A Day Without You (just charming!),Imagine (tuneful take on the John Lennon classic),and Save The Children, another sad but great song, sang with sincerity Ms Ross isn't exactly famous for!

br /Really, really good album, well worth buying!
