| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review Once upon a time, there was a lovely, New Wave girl group called the Go-Go's. They were poppy enough for the charts, but raw enough for the indie kids--everybody loved them and their warbly, cute-as-a-button singer Belinda Carlisle. But Belinda was unhappy; she wanted to go it alone, and why not? If Debbie was Blondie, then Belinda was the Go-Go's. So, in 1984, she quit the group and began her solo career, polishing her rough edge until it had a smooth, MOR sheen. That's when the hits started coming thick and fast: "Circle In The Sand", "Heaven Is A Place On Earth", "I Get Weak"--all huge and omnipresent throughout the 1980s. They're all collected here, with the notable exception of her first hit "Mad About You" from her debut album, iBelinda/i. Apparently, she even kept on recording solo material right into the 1990s, but few people noticed. i--Robert Burrow/i

| Customer Reviews: Go-Go Belinda? November 16, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
If you loved Belinda Carlisle as a Go-Go, then you will really love her on her own. It's like when Geri Halliwell left the Spice Girls, the restrictive parameters of a band and its accompanying prefabricated image were tossed aside. This situation allows Belinda Carlisle to evolve and grow into her own unique blend of pop diva and 80's pin-up queen. Yes, my formative music years were in the 80s, so my favourites are clearly Heaven is A Place on Earth, I Get Weak and Circle In The Sand, but the rest of the album is also top of the class!
