Amazon.co.uk Review
IThe History Of Rock/I arrives as the sort of superstardom-celebrating release that can buy a hot-selling artist time. (Think, say, IG N'R Lies/I.) After 8 million (and counting) sales of 1998's IDevil Without A Cause/I, the trailer-rockin' rapper is out to remind the world that it hardly started there. Mostly drawn, and often retooled, from his out-of-print IPolyfuze Method/I and IEarly Mornin' Stoned Pimp/I, these tracks display a "funk country hick" already on point with his knowing, hardheaded combo of old-school beats and classic-rock guitars. An "American bad ass" for sure, but also an artist who could come only from America, Kid Rock brings the noise--not to mention the bread and the circus. I--Rickey Wright/I

5 out of 5 stars The best album in the world   December 28, 2000

Wow! What a fantastic album! Easily the best CD I have ever heard! I first saw Kid Rock on WWF Raw is War, and was really impressed by 'American Bad Ass' (the track rocks), and so I bought the album and found that all of the other tracks are as good as, if not better than 'Bad Ass'. If you are into music by people like Limp Bizkit, you will love this album. It really is brilliant, and it will keep your head banging from 'Bad Ass' right through to 'My Oedipus Complex'. I strongly recommend you buy this album!

I first heard of Kid Rock in 1998. Since then I have become obsessed with his music. From American Badass to My Oedipus Complex, this album ROCKS!!! Compared to Devil Without A Cause, History of Rock doesn't quite cut it. But anyway it is still a brilliant album and I can't wait until the next one!

I had Devil without a cause last year and loved it. I got this 1 day after the release date from Amazon-uk and it f***ng rox! Joint with Devil without a cause in my opinion. Some amazing rock tracks like My Oedipus complex and Dark and greay and some old-school hip-hop like Ya' keep on and Paid. A classic. A MUST BUY! Kid rock aint exactly HUGE over here in the UK and he needs publicity. I hope you all buy it.

Kid Rocks album THE HISTORY of rock has got to be one of the most unique rock albums ever released. The album is a mixture of hard rock, like the song Dark and Grey to smooth hip hop and soul in the song Early Morning Stoned Pimp. The lyrics are explicit but they match with the song. Top tunes all round, definately worth a buy.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Music album ever!   June 16, 2001

Quite simply Kid Rock at his very best. A superb follow up to Devil Without A Cause. It has it all, with the fantastic new songs in American Bad Ass and Born 2 be a hick, old favourites like Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp and Ya Keep On. Hard hittin' rockers such as Dark and Grey and in most places My Oedipus Complex. A really great CD that will brighten up any boring 10 hour long train/car/plane trip! KID ROCK RULES!!!
