Amazon.co.uk Review Recorded in October 1999, this double-disc slab will certainly stick to your ribs, chock-full as it is of burly, brawny riffs and it is as flavourful as it is filling. Without question, the pairing of Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes sounds as strong on your player as it does on paper. Page's playing is more focused and incisive than it has been of late, the Crowes sound energized and inspired by the esteemed guest and Chris Robinson makes a fine Robert Plant. The Led Zeppelin covers, which account for 14 of the 20 tracks on ILive At The Greek/I, stay close to the original arrangements--you can sing along most of the way based on your knowledge of the Zep studio albums. At first, this may seem disappointing, but it becomes clear very quickly that this method is preferable to any heavy-handed reworkings. And they smartly include a few lesser-known tracks as well ("Sick Again" and "Ten Years Gone" from IPhysical Graffiti/I and "Out On The Tiles" from IIII/I). The real payoff, however, comes with the half-dozen blues covers, which sound looser and more alive than the Zep tunes. This set isn't innovative, surprising or adventurous, but that's precisely where its charms lie. I--Marc Greilsamer/I

Awesome!! January 17, 2001 Mr. R. A. Macpherson (Devon) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I don't really have to say much more! Having been a Zep' fan since the very beginning, I was a little dubious about buying this as an Amazon recommendation, but I needn't have worried. It's probably the best money I've laid out on a CD for years. Buy it!! Highlights? Well, 'Custard Pie' is stunning, 'Ten Years Gone' and 'In My Time Of Dying' astounding. The lesser known 'Hey, Hey What Can I Do' is a classic, and the climax of 'You Shook Me', 'Out On The Tiles' and 'Whole Lotta Love' will take your breath away. How I wish I had been at this concert!!! Jimmy Page has lost none of his artistry and sheer class, and make no mistake, The Black Crowes support him in superb style. What a superb band! (Great vocalist). This is a truly fantastic work and I have no hesitation in recommending it to any fan of Led Zeppelin, or any fan of CLASS rock music. Brilliant - the nearest thing to the best I've ever heard. Buy it and love it!!

As a Zeppelin fan for many years I was a little dubious and concerned when the legend that is Jimmy Page teamed up with the pretenders to the Zeppelin throne,The Black Crows. As soon as I listened to " celebration day " I knew this album was going to be a treat. The opening riff of "heartbreaker" made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. This cd is a must for any true rock enthusiast and demonstrates that Jimmy Page and his Gibson Les Paul are still in perfect harmony
Jimmy Page is my God January 1, 2001 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
The Black Crowes sure do know how to boogie and Jimmy Page is undoubtedly a genius and one of the best guitarists for improvising that the world has ever seen. It is brilliant to hear him in such fine form. You can feel the buzz - this is a must for any Led Zep, Crowes or good music fans. The Lemon Song especially is pure brilliance. I hope they do a UK tour together - we NEED this kind of music at the moment.
Few years old but still sounds good... April 2, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I didn't know this album existed until scouriing an auction site recently..!! Found it cheaper on here and decided to give it a go,as a big Led Zep fan didn't know what to expect as although i like the BC and off course Jimmy Page i wondered how they'd handle Led Zep's catalogue. I needn't of worried, what an album and I wish i was there! The Lemon song is more meatier with Chris Robinson no Robert Plant but he makes a fine job of it......songs such as 'Oh well' and 'Whole Lotta Love' are real guitar driven songs and both sound excelllent as one would imagine with JP in the background. A great album and definitely one for the rack if you're a Zep fan.........gives the songs a whole new angle!

Unfortunately Led Zep was before my time and until the release of Led Zep's "How The West Was Won" I didn't realise what an incredible band they were. It just doesn't sufficiently come through on their studio albums. Similarly this live album by the Black Crowes is absolutely fantastic. I wasn't that familiar with Led Zep's album Physical Graffitti, but when you hear those songs played live by the Black Crowes and Jimmy Page you suddenly understand what all the hype is about. Highlights: Ten Years Gone, In My Time Of Dying, Your Time is Gonna Come. Must have.
