4 out of 5 stars Lemmy Holly and the Crickets.   May 29, 2006

The album he always wanted to record, and did so, finally. And who better to help him than Slim Jim and Danny B? A nice selection of Lemmy's favourite rock 'n' rollers, played expertly, sung in a more laid-back style, obviously, which is difficult for some to take on board after being so used to his Motorhead vocals. However, a great and 'different' album, recorded more for the fun of it than with an eye on record sales.

Lemmy and Friends, Rock and Roll Forever, It does exactley what it says on the tin.pNot the best production values, not the greates singer in the world, not my choice of Rock and Roll classics, but all in all an interesting excercise.pIf you think Lemmy is a God (and I do) and like classic Rock and Roll (and I certainley do) it's worth a try.

Lemmy. Hero. Bass God. Warty. brLemmy has often mentioned in interviews that the music that fisrt 'turned him on' was Rock-n-Roll.brHere he covers, along with SlimJim and Danny B all his favourites. Whilst they work musically, and while you can really hear the fact that Lemmy is grinning like the proverbial cheshire cat, it doesn't quite work.pThe musicianship is of the first order, nothing less than than you'd expect from these people, Lemmy sounds lost. Sorry Ian, I know this was a labour of obvious love for you, but you held back far too much.pFor the real doubters, yes Lemmy -can- carry a tune, as is a damn good guitarist too to boot.
