If you like the dirty south, buy this! Its cool! the best songs are phat rabbit, fantasy, and southern hospitality, however, all the songs are good, with ill beats and outlandish lyrics. my only critism of the album is that ludacris has no style of his own, and tends to be a tad too similar to mystikal, which i guess is not a bad thing.

5 out of 5 stars Back For The First Time - And it wont be the last   August 24, 2003

By now you've probably heard many of the infectious beats and lyrics concealed within this album, but for those of you that haven't do not listen to doubters of luda's talent. Every song on this album is a lyrical masterpiece of raw southern style. Some of the beats are gritty, but it suits the mood of the album to a tee. Luda's humour shines through in his rhymes and many of his songs will leave you smiling if not jumping out of your seat. The album contains classics such as "Ho" and "What's Ya Fantasy" and puts accross Luda's sexual tendancies as well as his humour. The more you listen to this album, the more it grows on you, Ludacris is infectious. If you wanna experience a little ruff Southern Hospitality, pick this up.

5 out of 5 stars These people just dont know!!!!   November 24, 2006
Mr. L. nallamilli (Birmingham, UK)
To be honest Luda has been rated the best n has sold more records than anyone else ever, even elvis n the beatles!!! This album is tip top of the hip hop scene and all of his albums after this have not measured up. As this is his first album its a litte more grimey and has a more dirty south feel than his later more commercial albums. Every track is good and the skits are funny too. There are a few outstandin tracks that you will of heard before and be familiar with but if you dont own this album your missin out on some excellent tracks and the freestyle feat 4-ize, (mouthing off) is brilliant. The only tracks you'll be skippin will be the skits, 1st 10th n maybe whats your fantasy (as it was killed afta release) but every track is worth listenin 2.

4 out of 5 stars Another quality South Coast album !?!   July 7, 2001

If you enjoy listening to South Coast rap you should but this album. If not, you should still buy this album. With songs such as 'U got a problem' and 'ho' this cd will have u bouncing all night long, and thats not mentioning the quality of 'Southern hospitality' and 'Whats your fantasy'. The only bad side to this album is that it doesnt last as long as any money paying rap fan would like. Buy it.

I think the previous reviewers are just plain wrong. This is luda's best album or if not a very a close second too Word of mouf.pChicken-n-Beer and his latest effort Red light district are nowhere on the level that he was on this album and the follow up Word of moufpIf you only get one luda album be it word of mouf,if you dying for more luda then get this.
