| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.co.uk Review East Tennessee-born singer Kenny Chesney has, in the course of his relatively brief career, proven to be an unremarkable but thoroughly competent singer who shows occasional flashes of brilliance when teamed with the right song. That happens roughly half the time on this 17-cut compilation disc, which, despite its title, actually includes four new songs, one re-recording and a remix. Amid soppy country-pop chart fodder ("Me And You", "When I Close My Eyes") and second-rate ditties ("How Forever Feels", "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"), Chesney hits his stride on robust country ballads like "You Had Me from Hello" and the lead single "I Lost It". On other gems--like "That's Why I'm Here", a heartfelt tribute to the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step programme; "Baptism", a great duet with Randy Travis; and his fine re-recording of "Tin Man", the song that launched his career in the mid 1990s--Chesney even manages to attain an ephemeral but utterly moving transcendence over his vocal limitations and sometimes questionable song choices. --IBob Allen/I

| Customer Reviews: The nineties hits May 16, 2005 Peter Durward Harris (Leicester England) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
It may say something about the state of country music that Kenny is more famous for who he married in 2005 than for his long string of hits on the American charts, but there is no denying that Kenny is a very successful country singer. This compilation neatly encompasses the best of his music of the nineties, with four then-new tracks added for good measure. One of his old hits (The tin man) was re-recorded for the album while another (Back where I come from) is here as a live recording, and another (All I need to know) is re-mixed. pThere is plenty of variety here, both in tempo (mainly ballads with a few up-tempo songs) and subject matter. Here you will find a song about alcoholism (That's why I'm here), a wedding anthem (Me and you), a song about his roots (Back where I come from), duet with Randy Travis (Baptism) and a novelty song (She thinks my tractor's sexy). I like the latter song but it doesn't do country music any favors with the critics, who use it as an example when they want to poke fun at country music. Two of the then-new songs (I lost it, Don't happen twice) justified their inclusion by becoming big country hits for Kenny.pThis is a great collection of Kenny's hits of the nineties. If you enjoy country music, nineties style, you'll surely love this.
Tremendoulsy enjoyable April 17, 2009 John Williams Tremendously enjoyable album including many ballads from one of country,s great singers. One of the finest "best of" collections from a country artist.Sound quality on country albums is normally excellent and this CD is no exception.Bargain price for 18 tracks.Highly recommended
Excellent collection from top country artist April 5, 2009 A. Owen (Orpington, England) Best Of collections invariably offer good value and this album is no exception with 17 tracks. It offers all Kenny's big counctry hits up to its release date in 2000. Of course he has gone from strength to strength since then. The song 'Me and You' has become especially popular as a first dance at weddings. A good taster of his early years.
