Amazon.co.uk Review As Ronan Keating made perfectly clear with his first solo release, the chart-topping "When You Say Nothing At All", his career away from Boyzone, like his career with them, is to be filled with ballads. So on his debut album the only real break from the Boyzone formula is in his choice of ballad. Gone are the over-processed personality-free favourites, replaced by the more heartfelt and decidedly country sounds of "In This Life", "Way You Make Me Feel" and "Only For You", which follow to the letter the acoustic and sentimental strains of his first solo No. 1. It's like he's been challenged by The Corrs to create the ultimate in radio friendly Irish-country-pop; mixing his gruff growls with their flouncy folk. On "Roller Coaster", Ronan gets brave and picks-up the pace, going full toe-tapping cheese with the help of ex-New Radicals singer/writer/producer and pop guru Greg Alexander. And cheesy as it is, it's fun, ridiculously catchy and like everything else that Ronan has to offer, hard to say no to. I--Dan Gennoe/I

Ronan when are you releasing the follow up?? November 19, 2001 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
This is one of my favourite albums and if you love Irish music you'll love this album. So just sit back, listen and enjoy, this is the perfect therapy after another horrid day at workp1) Life is a Rollercoaster 10/10pGreat uptempo opening track, one of Ronan's best songs, co-written by New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander. p2) The way you make me feel 10/10pWritten and backing vocals by Bryan Adams. This is one of my favs of the album, it has a wonderful raw feeling about it and has some great lyrics p3)In this life 9/10pIf you love When you say nothing at all then you'll love this song. Slow ballad with an Irish feel. Lovely songp4) Heal me 10/10pAlso co-written by Gregg Alexander. This song is brilliant and a great up tempo track. Though it may take a few listens to really appreciate it, it has similar style to Life is a rollercoaster and has a cracking instrumental and ending. Perfect song to listen to on your walkman on the way to work.p5) Keep on Walking 10/10pA mid tempo track which has an anthem chorus. A very positive song which again has a very Irish feel. Love this songp6) When you say nothing at all 10/10pFantastic ballad which is a mix of country and traditional Irish music from the film Notting Hillp7) Brighter days 9/10pThe hairs will stand up on the back of your neck when you hear this track - an epic ballad. Beautifulp8) If you love me 7/10pI didn't like this song when I first heard it. It reminds me a bit of Don't be stupid by Shania Twain. p9) If I don't tell you now 7/10pWritten by Diane Warren, it's not very memorable, one of the weaker tracks on the albump10) Only for you 8/10pRonan's famous Boyzone growl comes out in this song. More tradional Irish music with a memorable chorus you'll find yourself humming to p11) Addicted 10/10pI love this song. Ronan is experimenting a bit more with this song. Acoustic guitar combined with strings and emotional lyrics, fantasticp12) When the world was mine 8/10pFeatures Irish singer Brian Kennedy, soft up lifting song. p13) Believe 10/10pA driving song, written by Ronan and Patrick Leonard. A mid tempo track which is very up lifting. Another favourite of mine. p14) Once upon a lifetime 9/10pThought-provoking ballad about getting older, becoming a parent and life. Reminds me of Boyzone's Everyday I love you. Fantastic end to a great album. pLooking forward to hearing the second album!!!!!
Magic!! May 26, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This album is just fantastic - even though I have Ronan's 2 other solo albums, I still play it all the time...I doubt I'll ever tire of listening, enjoying and totally getting lost in Ronan's magical voice here in these songs! There is so much emotion shown in all of Ronan's music...and on this CD!p"When You Say Nothing At All", "In This Life", "Only For You", "Brighter Days" and "Once Upon A Lifetime" are just gorgeous, with the Irish flavour in the music and Ronan's amazing voice just taking any listener away to the most wonderful place. The words have so much meaning and Ronan certainly feels and shows that meaning effortlessly! "When The World Was Mine" is a song that certainly remains in your head long after listening! "Addicted" and "The Way You Make Me Feel" are fabulous and for the more up tempo tracks, "Rollercoaster", "Keep On Walking" (with that fantastic unforgettable chorus!) and "If You Love Me" are songs that will always have you tapping your feet!pThis is just a winning CD - you will always love it, no matter what mood you're in, it will always lift you up!
One of the best albums I've heard! September 27, 2000 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If your a boyzone fan then this is an album not to be missed. Ronan sings all the songs in the famous Keating way. There is mostly the ballads, but there are a few up-beat tracks (4, 7, 11 and 13). Ronan has co wrote tracks 5 and 13 which are among my personal favorites. He has also done great colabrations with Bryan Adams (track 2) and Gregg Alexandra (tracks 1 and 4). Overall if you love Ronan or Great bllads then get this album.
Incredible! August 7, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The first time I heard Ronan sing was No Matter What on The Box along with the other members of Boyzone and I was hooked! I'm from the States so I had to order this album on line. I just want you to know that I thoroughly enjoy this album, have listened to it over and over. Ronan's voice is so beautiful, as are all the songs on the album, however, my favorite is Addiction. Anyway, I am praying that Ronan takes America by storm soon, as I would love to see him in concert. I look forward to his next album, and his next, and his next. Thanks!
better than all boyzone's albums! August 19, 2000 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a Ronan's fan since the very star of Boyzone. I always knew he was brilliant. And so is his album! It's different from boyzone. Ronan don't sing like on the group's album. His voice is more mature. The songs are more rock, more irish! My favorite is Only For You. It's a wonderfull song. Congratulation Ro!
