Amazon.co.uk Review She's back. Of course, on IBroken Silence/I, her first album in three years (since the disappointing IChyna Doll/I), Foxy's rhyme skills haven't gotten any better or worse- she still exhibits the focused monotone that first got her noticed in 1995 on LL Cool J's "I Shot Ya". IBroken Silence/I can't be called a revelation, but it doe s showcase a less ill, more introspective Foxy. Gratuitous battle rhymes are still Ivery/I much in effect, but the effort she's made to explore her recent painful experiences has resulted in some pretty compelling material. Foxy explains her position, pointedly making thinly veiled references to the many industry beefs and relationship problems that have made her name prime fodder for the rumour mills. Many of the best tunes found here, including the ragga-raw "Oh Yeah", are heavy on the reggae vibe, but, quiet as it's been kept, Foxy's been exploring her dancehall roots for a while now. IBroken Silence/I may not be the best we'll ever hear from Ms Brown but you can definitely call it a comeback. I--Rebecca Levine/I

| Customer Reviews: She's the most critically acclaimed, rapstress in the game.. July 19, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is Foxy's best album so far. The beats are hot and Foxy's lyrics are much, much better than before (she wrote them herself this time too).. The best tracks are the half-personal, half-hardcore, 730, her sad personal song, The Letter, as well as the track about her break-up with Kurupt, Saddest Day and her angry reggae diss track against Lil Kim and others, Run Dem.pFoxy has a reggae flavour mixed into this album which she has never done on her previous albums and she pulls this off very well. Overall, Broken Silence is definitely worth buying..

Missy's album+Eve's album= Foxy's album. Foxy's album is missy's and Eve's album put together. This album has got it all;Ragga,Reggae,Soul,RB, Bollywood, everything. This album is a classic and it's worth every penny.I was a bit sceptical 'cause i didn't know what to expect from foxy(she's been gone for too long). Now i can't get enough of it. There are loads of heavy tracks on the album...tracks like oh yeah, Hood scriptures(fusion of Arabic/indian+Rap), Broken silence, Saddest Day and loads and loads of heavy tunes. GET THIS ALBUM!

The most critically acclaimed rapstress in the game is back with a vengeance! I was so surprised by this CD. I've always loved Foxy but I sometimes found her crudeness a bit much to handle. 'Broken Silence', in my opinion has to be one of the best albums of the summer. 'The Letter' will touch your heart whether you like Foxy or not. Other favourite tracks are 'Fallin', 'Bout my paper', '7.30', 'Broken Silence'... damn they're all good! My only complaint is 'Candy'. It just seems out of place on the album. It could have been on Foxy's previous albums but it just doesn't belong on 'Broken Silence'. I love the references to my favourite rapper of all time the one and only Tupac Shakur. The heavy reggae and bhangra (Indian) influence of the album only add to the freshness. I just have to say that Foxy has produced an amazing album to answer her critics with. The words speak for themselves. I urge you to go out now and get this album. If you appreciate good hip-hop, especially from female rappers, you cant go wrong with this album. GET IT NOW!!!!!
