Amazon.co.uk Review
Michael Jackson was still going for pop hits with 1991's IDangerous/I, but he also front-loaded the album with six straight Teddy Riley-assisted cuts. This half-hour swoop of tense, aggressive, often angular funk was Jackson's most interesting music since IThriller/I, and still sounds, well, invincible on this remastered edition. After that, the record's uneven, but there's nothing embarrassing about it, either. "Gone Too Soon", a non-Jackson composition about teen AIDS casualty Ryan White, is a quiet statement (particularly played next to the choir-laden "Heal the World", "Keep the Faith", and "Will You Be There") showing that the star doesn't always have to get showy. The sprightly "Black or White" is explicitly pro-interracial romance, an angle its video didn't go near, and the urgent "Give In to Me" is almost scary. Scary good, that is. I--Rickey Wright/I

5 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE   January 23, 2002

Of all the Michael Jackson albums this was the one i knew little of. Ofcourse i knew of Black and White and Remeber the Time but the 'filler' tracks i knew nothing about. I bought it recently and let me tell you something there are NO 'FILLER' tracks on this album, every track could be a top 20 single. When was the last time someone said that about a pop album. This album has more depth than Thriller and Bad and more styles ranging from pop, hip hop, rock, gospel and funk. My personal favourites are Keep the Faith and Who is It both are some of Michael's most underrated songs. Bottom line is if you are a Michael fan or casual music fan get this and believe me you wont put it down for weeks.

5 out of 5 stars Pure Funk   May 5, 2002

It is my favourite Michael Jackson album without a shadow of doubt. It really does take music to the next level with pure funky stuff such as Jam, In The Closet and Dangerous. And this isn't just all it has to offer. The album offers a good selection of ballads including the gospel Keep The Faith and Will You Be There. The album still sounds good even after 10 years and I would totally reccommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Dangerous - Michael's Best Offering to date   February 5, 2003

In my opinion the tracks on this album are all good enough to be relased as singles. The fantastic title track, Dangerous, is a masterpiece. This cd also has the added bonus of having the track Will You Be There - I dare anyone to listen to the lyrics and not feel some sort of emotion. As usual Michael's vocals are spot on, and his songwriting skills are evident throughout. I personally prefer this cd to Thriller (although I feel it is unfair to compare an artist's work with their previous offerings). If you are after an album you will play again and again then this is the one for you. Michael's music is what he should be known for - his private life should remain just that: PRIVATE. Enjoy the music.

5 out of 5 stars Feels expensive   September 20, 2001

Released in late 1991. The Album has stood out since then. The event of 1991 and may be the early 90s too. 10 years and counting since, the album doesn't feel dated the way Thriller does now. This was Michael's first major album without Quincy Jones, Bruce Swedein was the producer. The songs feel terribly expensive production wise and it shows they have spent a lot of time over it. Mr Jackson, may not be the most prolific artist ever, but he sure gives good value, the album runs over 70 min's. My favourite song is 'who is it' the song encapsulates the whole album, and the video was great too. A definite 5-star effort. Thank you Michael.

5 out of 5 stars Dangerous is brilliance and perfectionism personified   January 8, 2000

From classic hard rock eg.Give in to me, to gentle, tracks eg.Gone to soon, Michael Jackson exhibits his tremendous talent for incorporating such a wide range of sophisticated sounds and moods into his music. This is a collection of once heard, never forgotten, contemporary songs.
