J-Lo got it goin ow-n!! ALL KILLER- absolutely no filler!! February 11, 2002 rohan.jadhav@lineone.net (Norfolk, England) 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
I have no words except for SHEER BRILLAINCE.pThis is a truly stunning release from 'diva' and all around genius Jennifer Lopez. Someone had really got it right when deciding to do a remix album, and the results are amazing! This album has all her hit singles; If You Had My Love, Play, Love Dont Cost a Thing, Aint It Funny, Waiting for Tonight, Feelin So Good, Im Real, and US single Lets Get Loud+ many other great tracks- all redone, revamped and ready to please.pThe remixes are all different from the originals (proven with the murder Ja Rule remix of IM REAL), and are likely to do just as good, or even better.pJ-lo has also managed to team up with some of the finest people in RnB/Hip Hop including P Diddy, Ja Rule, 50 Cent, Caddillac Tah, the infamous DARK CHILd; just to name a few.pThis album is different to her previous pop style releases, but still keeps its same roots. J-lo has managed to expand to a larger music market.pOverall, many great 'new' tracks, all worth the wait. Jennifer Lopez fans WILL NOT be disappointed. And this album is also likely to expand her fan base.pHighly recommended. 5/5 stars. A must for any J-lo collector/ or fan...BUY IT NOW!!brThanks for reading!brROHAN :o)
A Hip-Hop Side Of J'Lo April 5, 2002 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
This cd is brilliant, i agree fully with some of the other people who say this is for the hip hop side of J'Lo fans. The cd opens up with a brilliant up-tempo mix of Love Don't Cost A Thing with some rap which is great. Then follows her singles Ain't It Funny and I'm Real with Ja Rule. Walking On Sunshine is another brilliant up-tempo track, then it follows with mixes of her last albums singles, If You Had My Love, Play, and Waiting For Tonight. Then she finishes the cd off with a couple of Spanish songs, which doesn't do the album any harm at all. All in all this is a brilliant album from such a talented singer with many more cd's to come. Recommended. 5/5 STARS
J to tha L-O, Hello! July 27, 2002 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This album is a interesting album. It includes J.Lo's hits and a song from her motion picture "Enough" well I go through the tracks and tell you what I think!p1. Love Don't Cost A Thing (RJ Schoolyard Remix ft. Fat Joe):brWow! What a remix, I love the clubbish sorta sound in the song and the beats are really good! Nice intro into J.Lo's remix album.p2. Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix ft. Ja Rule and Caddilac Tah):brNice, I love the break down sort of rhythm in the background. Ja Rule and Caddilac Tah's raps are really good! It's layed back and relaxed.p3. I'm Gonna Be Alright (Track Masters Remix ft. 50 Cent):brScary sortta sound, very different tune from the original and I love the raps by 50 Cent, they are such good rap verses!p4. I'm Real (Murder Remix ft. Ja Rule):brEven though they already have a Murder Remix, this one is good. I love the Hip-Hop beats and the background music, just a bit of bad language though! Still a good song!p5. Walking On Sunshine (Metro Remix):brThis song nearly reaches 6:00! But it's a good club remix of the original. Even though the original was already a good remix, this one is better!p6. If You Had My Love (Dark Child Masters Remix):brCool, layed back and nice remix. Dark Child really knows how to remix very nicely and the song is really good!p7. Feelin' So Good (Bad Boy Remix ft. P. Diddy and G. Dep):brThe song is good! I know alot of people don't like it, I think it's one of the best with rap on it! P. Diddy really knows what his doing in studio when he remixes with his producers! Good track!p8. Let's Get Loud (Pablo Flores Remix):brReally good remix. Mixes in Club and Latin very nicely together. Pablo Flores I think is the best Latino DJ! This song is just below 5:30, but it's good!p9. Play (Sack International Remix):brI think this is the remix, that isn't very interesting, but still good. It slows down the original Play but it's okay. It would've been better if she had added in a rapper on the original and extended it to make it a remix! But still it's okay!p10. Waiting For Tonight (Hex's Momentous Remix):brCool club mix of a club song! I love it, it's really good, gives more of a club remix and really sums up all the remixes!p11. Alive (From Motion Picture "Enough")brReally nice outro to the album! A slow ballad to end off with. The song was co-written by J.Lo and is really really nice, use it for a date! Oh and go see her movie "Enough" and also watch the music video for this song, it's based on the movie!pAll I can say for the album is buy it! N.O.W!!!!!!!!!!
Rehased but J-lo class remains energetically appealing !! March 25, 2002 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Although at first this seems a mere combination of her best songs on what would prematurely be called a greatest hits album for Mrs Lopez, the qulaity emulates her rare talent! The prevailing influences of a number of high profile Us rappers; J-Rule, Fat Joe and P.Diddy indicates an exploration of new directs for Lopez and a transformation from Pop Diva to RB Superstar! In spite of not being content with just her formidable acting or pop star status, the resilient Jenifer Lopez with side kick J-Rule have produced an album of remarkable finesse and impressive remixing aptitudes. Consequently Ain't it funny has been altered into an instant MTV classic and an exquisite fusion of mellow funky beats plus teasing yet enticing lyrics. Whilst I'm Real maybe a fighting answer to her critics, it nevertheless still manages to display the flare and smooth grooves associated far more with extremely destinguished RB divas such as Ailyia, Janet Jackson and even Lucy Pearl. Additionally the up-tiempo Pop beats may have been softened but certainly the energy that can be connected with Latin Music is still ever present! pQuestionably this is a fine demonstration of the Madonna method; reinventing yourself at the right time... However in this case Lopez utilises the music of the moment and valiantly challenges her ever growing list of individual abilities. P.Diddy has once again applied his familiar but unprecendented technican skills to Feelin' so good which pleasantly has moved away from the catergorisation as an over rated song. With out doubt the most commendable part of the album is a return to the spanish/latin influences that guaranted her first album On the 6 world wide chart success. pIn retrospect Jenifer Lopez has evidently not forgotten the sounds of the Bronx where she grew up and over welhmingly this reflects the different styles of music that are inhabiting our charts today. A difinite must for all listeners as there is something for everyone in this album and it is satisfying to see a greater depth being displayed by this artist!!
