Ozzy at his best June 14, 2002 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
the second album of ozzys solo carrer is as good, if not better than his first, the blizzard of ozz. Diary of a madman is fantastic. It has great songs like over the mountain flying high again and diary of a madman. All of those songs and many more on this album truly capture Randy Rhodes brilliant guitar sound. It is a quite amazing album which has hard rock songs like Beleiver and softer mellow songs like you cant kill rock and roll witch are simply brilliant. A must for the converted and non-converted fan. BUY IT!!!!!!
Think Before You Buy! September 19, 2002 Stuart Osborne (cambridge, UK) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Diary of a madman is a fantastic album that I first bought in the early eighties. I bought the album on CD to listen to in the car only to find that the CD I have bought does not have the original recording of the album on it. Yes Ozzy is Ozzy, Randy Rhodes is amazing and won't be forgotten.....but as a fan of the band from the early days I am horrified that Bod Daisley and Lee Kerslake have been removed from the recording and replacements grafted on. For any new Ozzy fans who couldn't give a stuff about our rock heritage then the album is still great, but for me....I am not sure what I have bought...not the album it is supposed to be. Maybe a collectors item when the record company see the error of thier ways? or a spot the difference quiz for the discerning fan. After a quick look on the web, it appears that Blizzard of Oz has gone the same way.brNone the less it is still a fantastic album!
Ozzy At His Best January 8, 2003 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
Diary of a Madman, in my opinion, is the best Ozzy Osbourne album to date. With melodies like "You Can't Kill Rock n Roll" and "Flying High Again" you can tell Ozzy is really here to stay. I bought the album last year and have 14/15 ozzy albums, missing the 'Live At Budokan' CD. This CD is a must have for all Ozzy fans and fans of 80's Rock.
remixed, rerecorded Remastered?? September 14, 2003 Mr. P. A. Brown (UK) 2 out of 9 found this review helpful
Having never heard the original Recordings i cant comment on which is better? but what i can say is, this is a great collection of Ozzy Rhodes at their best! The Song that makes the album for me is "Tonight" a great Ballad of the "Dreamer" Ilk written some 20 odd years before the latter.. but just as great in my Opinion.
Super Rady Rhoads ! June 29, 2009 Collector Editions The top heavy metal feeling. One of the best Ozzy records. Who can not like this? All rock lovers should have this record. Randy Rhoads, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Van Zant....all of them died in a flying accident. The worst tragedy in the rock history.
