  Disc 1
  • Falstaff
  • Your bill, sir
  • Are you acquainted with a merchant whose name is Ford?
  • So now, convey these scorching letters
  • Your honour? Vermin!
  • Dear Alice!
  • Hevenly Alice, let me love you...
  • Monster!
  • Again please
  • Pst, pst, Nannetta
  • Falstaff has dared to mock me!
  • Back to the jousting...
  • You'll gather from his boasting
  • Enough of this chattering
  • We're converted, we've reverted
  • Sir, your servant!
  • I've another commission to bring your worship
  • Alice is mine!
  • Sir John, outside there is a certain Master Brook
  • Good sir, may God be with you
  • In Windsor there's a lady
  • This cruel beauty has a reputation
  • I'm dreaming! Or is this true?
  • How do I look? I'm ready

  Disc 2
  • I think we should propose a bill
  • I hurry down the river to the Garter
  • It's really very simple
  • Witty young women of Windsor...
  • At last I've caught you
  • When I was page to the noble Duke of York
  • Mistress Alice, it's Mistress Meg
  • He jumped the hedge, and he trampled the hydrangea
  • Come here!
  • I'll kill him! I'll slaughter him!
  • When I catch you...
  • It's not him!
  • Hey! Landlord!
  • Sir, your servant!
  • Just as the chimes of midnight are resounding!
  • Don't you forget the lanterns
  • Introduction
  • From lover's lips a happy song
  • Master Fenton, put on this friar's habit
  • One, two, three, four, five, six, seven chimes
  • I hear a nimble footstep
  • Wood-nymphs, elfins, naiads, leprechauns and sirens
  • Upon a fragrant breath of night
  • Who goes there?
  • Pinch him and burn him
  • Buffoon!
  • Nose incandescent! Nozzle rubescent!
  • So the commonest rabble have collected
  • Now the bride is approaching with her bridegroom
  • Ha, ha!
  • Life is a burst of laughter

5 out of 5 stars At last a Falstaff in the language of Shakespeare!   January 25, 2003

This is a brilliant rendition of a wonderful opera. The musical values are first class. The singing is strong throughout. pMost importantly, in an opera which is one of Verdi's least "tuneful" we can understand the comedy in the libretto. The opera is fun.pIf you are not an Italian speaker buy this CD, it should be your first choice, it's a treat.
