Amazon.co.uk Review
Don't believe the hype: Bad Boy Records did not invent the remix, the company has just done a good job using it. But the past is the past. Don't come here if you're looking for Puffy's earlier ground-breaking work with the likes of Jodeci and Super Cat. The "hits" here are of a more recent vintage, and if these remixes are any indication, it seems Diddy has reached the bottom of his bag of tricks. Screeching bells, Ghostface Killah and the return of the MacK (Craig Mack) give G Dep's "Special Delivery" (from last year's IChild of the Ghetto/I) that hyped Bad Boy flavour of yore, but it's all downhill from there. Lines such as "We used to drive the whole city wild" make listening to "I Need a Girl", Puffy's maudlin ode to ex-squeeze J Lo, a cringe-inducing experience, and the producer-rapper's painfully weak rhyme ruins Mary J Blige's "No More Drama". Most disturbing is Puffy's crass opportunism: Biggie's "voice from the grave" duet with Ashanti (on "Unfoolish") is downright creepy and ultimately unnecessary. --IRebecca Levine/I

5 out of 5 stars They Invented The Remix   June 6, 2002

This is a superb collaboration of remixes from the bad boy camp. With huge artists such as Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Ashanti and Usher, bad boy has given us the remixes to some of the songs that have changed rap and hip/hop in the 90's. Biggie also features on the album with his lyrics from i'm f**king you tonight. P. Diddy's new single I need a girl (parts one and two are on the album) is definitely going to be a massive hit. Diddy's part in the first part are also directed at Jennifer Lopez. The bad boy for life and notorious remixes are probably the best on the album. The other tracks have artists like Black Rob, G-Dep, Busta Rhymes, Beanie Sigel, Missy Elliot and M.O.P making this one of the best albums bad boy have ever produced.

After a Disapointing 3rd album ( the saga continues) P.Diddy has pulled off another hip hop classic. This album seems to be partly a revamped hardcore version of the saga continues and partly remixes of rap classics. The highlight of this album has to be the apearence of late rap star The Notorious B.I.G on the tracks - "Woke Up In The Morning", "unfoolish" and "Notorious". This album is lacking one thing SHYNE surely with his new album coming out soon P.Diddy should have promoted some of his artists new material. My favourite tracks have to be "BadBoy For Life RMX"- P.Diddy, M.O.P and Busta Rymes also "I Need a Girl Prt II" - P.Diddy, Ginuwine and Loon. Overall a must have for any hip hop fan.

Well well well Puff Daddy/P Diddy/Sean Combs has sprinkled his touch over these songs and is annoucing them on the album We Invented The Remix. I bought this cd about a year ago when I was on holiday. There are no absolute classic songs on this album. It feels like it was rushed out onto the shevles as quickly as possible just so Bad Boy Records could add some more dough to their already filled wallets. To be honest though I was never really into Puffy or many of his Bad Boy collegues (except for Notorious B.I.G) so maybe thats why I feel it's lacking in some departments. If you are a devoted Puffy and Bad Boy fan add it to your collection but if you are into more hardcore rap and real artists like 2pac,Biggie and Big L then i suggest you leave this on the shelves ya feel me dawgs!Best tracks Bad boy 4 life, Notorious B.I.G and That's Crazy
