Amazon.co.uk Review Considering that Kelly Osbourne made her name as a petulant, self-obsessed, foul-mouthed but always supremely entertaining teenage rebel on IThe Osbournes/I TV show, you'd imagine the temptation would be to translate this endearing snottiness directly into music. Thankfully and surprisingly, IShut Up/I doesn't chase the zeitgeist dollar with either numbing nu-metal or lightweight skate punk. Instead it goes for a brand of polished new wave that's much like the girl herself: brash but insecure, straight-talking yet sophisticated, cool but often hilarious. p The most obvious precedent is ICelebrity Skin/I by Hole. Melodies are gum-chewingly breezy, infused with FM radio vibrancy and built on harmonies designed for cruising down to Venice Beach with the top down. The attitude is refreshingly human, with "Come Dig Me Out" actually managing a touch of poignancy and the title track embodying the album's theme, namely that Osbourne is her own person and everyone should stop messing. The girl even manages to carry the tunes (that horrific version of "Papa Don't Preach" is buried as a hidden track) with a decent amount of suss and style. It all begins to get a little too saccharine over the course of the entire album but generally this is a far more lovable and much more accomplished album than anyone would have thought possible. I--Ian Watson/I

Kelly Osbourne 'Shut Up' review June 28, 2004 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is one of my favourite albums, seriously. I just love every track so much i've listened to this album again and again, and yes shes only famous cause of ozzy her dad, and? she freely admits that so does it really matter??? brEveryone seems to hate her just because of this and the fact shes not the smallest women in the world (sinse when was being skinny attractive anyway??) but its her music you should listen to, which is very good, my favourite track is 'more than life itself' its so beautifull in its self, just like kelly :-) XxXxXxXxXxXx

I found this cd to be very catching you will find it hard to stop listening to it is a head bobing album. It is very invigorating music I started listening to at whilst cleaning at 2pm and didn't turn it off until 8pm it is addictive. The price make it a enjoyable and affordable pice of music to own . Great job Kelly look forward to hearing more.
Not the best album in the world But ... (...) June 18, 2003 (..) Like I said not the best in the world but still good. To be taken with a pinch a salt, Kelly's debut is refreshing, cheery dare I say it..summer pop. Perfect for sunny days, every song except "More Than Life Itself" (...) is boopy and fun enough. The best two tracks are "Come Dig Me Out" and in my opinion "Right Here". A good thing about this album is no matter how many listens, it never seems to grow old. (...) I would recommend this album simply because it's nice and cheery. But if you are looking for an album that is all deep, dark and meaningful....look elsewhere.
Please don't "shut up!" February 23, 2003 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Well, is Kelly's debut offering any good, you may ask? In a word: "yes". OK, so she's not got the voice of P!nk, her writings aren't as deep as Alanis Morisette, and she doesn't look as good as Avril Lavigne, but that doesn't really matter when Kelly's belting out (perhaps shouting out) songs like "Come Dig Me Out" and "Shut Up!". Other highlights of the short-but-sweet album include her cover of "Papa Don't Preach" and "Disconnected", containing the lyrics: "Sorry, boy, I've found another, and he knows me just like my mother!" Kelly's debut is funny, catchy, and an all round good album... but there's only one catch. The slushy "More Than Life Itself" is the only track she just can't get to grips with, and, after you've listened to it, you'll want to give that one a miss, but apart from that, "Shut Up!" is a pretty great album.
Packs a punch February 13, 2003 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
As the darling daughter of metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne's album may seem like the latest attempt by MTV to cash in on its most successful show to date, but Shut Up is actually better than I anticipated. While Kelly Osbourne's vocal talent is shaky at best, she packs a whole lot of attitude and the result is a surprisingly solid glamed-up garage rock set. pRather than sounding like a more agitated Avril Lavigne, Kelly Osbourne reaches back to the angry female singers of the 1980s and '90s for her inspiration.pIt remains to be seem whether Kelly Osbourne's music career will see as many fans as the show she appears on.
