Amazon.co.uk Review
First, the bad news; ILa Bella Mafia/I is still wall-to-wall smut, and there is nothing to suggest that Kimberley "Lil' Kim" Jones has enhanced her subterranean level of self-esteem. All the same, this third album is rather fine.p The 4' 11" emcee has generated many times her own height in column inches since the death of her mentor and sometime lover, the Notorious B.I.G.. Her breast enlargement has been a more fevered topic of debate than her rapping skills, which are generally considered negligible. Yet Kim has a fine rap voice, husky and resonant, and on ILa Bella Mafia/I a cornucopia of production talent furnishes her with beats that allow her to flaunt the most under-appreciated of her assets.p The best thing here is "Magic Stick", an infectious head-nodder built from a B.B. King loop that features 50 Cent, and is better than anything on his own album. Kim comes across like a super-libidinous Missy Elliott on "Shake Ya Bum Bum" and "The Jump Off", and "Hold It Now" even samples the same Beastie Boys track Elliott used on her IUnder Construction/I LP. Yet when Missy herself turns up, for the spectacular "(When Kim Say) Can You Hear Me Now?", Kim is far from overshadowed. --IAngus Batey/I

Lil'Kim's been gone for a minute but now shes back doing what she does best. Kim has been around for 8 years and released now three albums and for the third time she has released a great album.pLil'Kim has to be by far the best female rapper theres Eve, and Foxy who do there thing but Lil'Kim is the only one who releases really good albums.pIn this one her third she as teamed up with top producers including Timbaland and Swizz Beatz and also Havoc of Mobb Deep who producers one of the best tracks on the album Hold It Down.pShe has also called upon some of todays top rap stars including Twista, 50 Cent, Missy, and Styles PpSome of the highlights of this album include the lead of track which is The Jump Off with Mr Cheeks, Doing It Way Big, Thug Luv with Twista, Magic Stick with 50 Cent, Get In Tounch With Us with Styles P. pLil'Kim also addresses some of the beef she has with past friends including a diss directed at P.Diddy and her former Junior Mafia friend Lil'Cease along with disses directed at Foxy Brown.pIf u have bought any of her previous releases you will know what ur in for and that is a great album from one of the best if not the best female rappers around this album is definately worth buying as its a great album cos all the other female MC's ain't got nothing on Queen Bee

'La Bella Mafia' is a totally original Lil' Kim sounding album. Her interludes really make this genre her own, her husky-lush voice mixed with her varied hardcore and softcore beats and riffs really amaze me. I love 'Shake ya bum bum' for its simplicity and catchiness - also 'Magic Stick' is already a classic in my eyes. This album totally lives up to the standard of her previous 2 albums.

I first heard of Lil' Kim when I bought Puff Daddy's album "Forever" and I was stunned!!! Her voice was truely...a voice!! I then bought her second album "Notorious K.I.M" and I was again stunned!!! Her lyrics are fantastic as they just TELL THE TRUTH with no strings attached- something not many artists do these days!p"La Bella Mafia"...well what can I say? As soon as the intro played,I knew this would be a georgeous album and i was right!p"Hold it now feat. Havoc" has a great beat that makes ya just wanna get up n dance!!pEVERY SONG ON DIS ALBUM IS PERFECT!!!!!!!! There isn't a song that is weak and rubbish- they r all great!pSo...if ya wanna buy a huuuuge album that is definitely worth tha doe, THEN BUY IT AND DON'T YA DARE HESITATE!!!!!!

Lil' Kim sounds better than ever. The lyrics still have her naughty edge but manage to be more mature and thoughtful. The girl's amazin. Keep On Kim!

I just got this album, and already know every track. I would say to any Lil' Kim fan that to not buy this album is a SIN. 'The Jump Off' is one of the best songs on the album aswell as 'Can't F*** With The Queen Bee' and 'Hollywood Skit'. 'Shake Ya Bum Bum' is a song that you can't help but move to and 'Magic Stick' is an amazing duet with 50 Cent. The best song on the album though, has got to be a tie between 'The Jump Off' and '(When Kim Say) Can You Hear Me Now? ft. Missy Elliot. If You Haven't Got This Album, GO AND BUY IT, it's DA BOMB.x.
