I heard some tracks from "The Young and the Hopeless" and was instantly hooked on Good Charlotte, they are an impressive band, playing their own instruments and writing their own songs, which in my opinion completely voids them from being classed as gimicky and avril-esque.brGC have an impressive background touring with Blink 182 and Lit, so give them some well earned respect.brOne of the things I have been disappointed to see however, is how the record company chooses to market GC; they are always portrayed as posers and pretty boys, it should be just about the music in my opinion, otherwise we will have another Blazing Squad on our hands.brThe album is quite impressive, the slower songs aren't as gripping as such anthems as "The Click" and "Festival Song", but it is certainly an impressive debut album, I would recommend this to anyone who has teen spirit rooted in them, and wants to escape momentarily from the bigger issues in life. 5 Stars for a quality effort.

This being Good Charlottes debut album, many people believe it is a slight let-down, but were not all great bands once novices? The more a person listens to this album, the more understanding he/she gets of each song. All of the songs have amazing lyrics and instrumental talent, which is why Good Charlotte is one of my favourite bands around these days. brWith the follow-on of The Young and The Hopeless, and their latest album, The Chronicles of Life and Death, one soon discovers the meaning behind such affectionate and emotional lyrics of all songs... which at times have shed a different light on the darker times of my life, certainly thought-provoking. A must-have for all Good Charlotte fans, I definitely reccommend it.pTruly inspirational, thanks guys!

First i'd like to say that that even though many people and "punks" hate Good Charlotte for being "posers" and "punk-wannabees" Good Charlotte have helped me get through certain points of difficulty in my life, as i am only 13 and teenage life is hard! Its amazing - they have actually changed my life! Their debut album, 'Good Charlotte' is much more relaxed than their second album, and in certain tracks it displays an amzing understanding of harmonies and chords. My favourite track would have to be no.6, Complicated, as the bridge in it is amazing. Im very much affected by the emotion in their songs when they describe the sudden loss of their father, who walked out on them on Christmas Eve. The album is absolutely brilliant, from the slow and beautiful harmonies of Seasons to the jaunty theme of East Coast Anthem, i think this album thoroughly deserves 5 stars. I only hope Good Charlotte release more albums such as this in the near future.

Well, I Already had the young and the hopeless album and i thought that was brilliant. But I only heard of one of the songs of the album Little Things witch I thought was one of there best song's, but once I heard all the album I realised it was just a good or "better" then the young and the hopeless if you are a good charlotte, blink 182, sum 41, linkin park Fan I recommend this album to you!

I absolutely loved this album. When I bought it I was worried that it wouldn't be very good, but it has become one of my favourite albums. I am 13 years old and these songs have helped me learn that its alright to be different. I go to school wearing eyeliner, different clothes and people used to take the piss out of me because of it. They called me freak and abnormal. It got me down. I also used to think about why all the popular girls were so slutty? It wasn't nessacery. As soon as I heard I Heard You, it helped me through that patch. Hold On-a song from their second album-helped me from self-harming. I felt really down as though I had betrayed everyone and it helped me not to do it. This album deserves some credit. Some people think they are posers and punk wannabes, but they used to get bullied at school for being different. Like me. They are an inspiration to me. Joel and Benji have really good voices too.
