Amazon.co.uk Review Love him or laugh at him, there's no denying Peter Andre's presence as a pop star. IThe Long Road Back/I comes on the back of "Mysterious Girl" hitting the No. 1 spot again thanks to a reality TV show. The aforementioned hit appears twice on the album, firstly in it's original form and secondly as a remix, updated to sound fresher for 2004. Although "Mysterious Girl" was the bigger single, the public waited with baited breath for the catchy amalgam "Insania", written live on TV yet even more amazingly found as an Andre demo in a second-hand store years earlier. p Jokes aside, the fact is Peter Andre can write amazing pop music be it the cheery mid-90s pop of "Never Gonna Give You Up" (not the Rick Astley song) or the poppy dancehall of "World of Her Own" (not the Westlife song). "All Time Girl" is a very pretty ballad alluding to his public relationship with glamour model Jordan and "All Cried Out" is a more contemporary ballad, equally as strong, sounding a little like something the Sugababes might write. One possible cheese mistake is the throwback to his time working at a holiday resort, an over-the-top cover of "Ooh La La La (Let's Go Dancing) but other than that, IThe Long Road Back/I deserves credit as a very consistent pop album that's an awful lot of fun. --IDavid Trueman/I

| Customer Reviews: A male fan who is not jealous..........! June 8, 2004 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I am possibly one of very few males who is not jealous of Peter Andre.... simply because i think he has had his fair share of bad press and because he's one of the most talented artists i think the UK has had in a long timepHeres my rating for each song on the album:p1. Insania - The hugely anticipated song which was as good as the hype. A song that will definately remind me of the summer 9/10p2. You Got Me Thinking - A funky song which kind of lingers in your head after you hear it because of the catchy chorus. Can definately see this being played in clubs 8/10p3. Never Gonna Give You Up - This song reminds me of another song but i dont know what it is! Nevertheless a nice song, not the best but its still good 7/10p4. Mysterious Girl - What can i say, we all know it and we all love it 10/10p5. What is love - Really great song, with a great beat. The music and lyrics are really nice. Great song to think about the special person in your life 9/10p6. All Cried Out - LOVE this song, one of the best songs on the album. Peter shows off his vocal abilities and proves hes a brilliant songwriter 10/10p7. Let's Go Dancin - Would probably be the follow up to Mysterious Girl. This isn't my kind of song.... the beats funky but i just dont really feel it. 5/10p8. All Time Girl - Song about the lovely Katie Price (Jordan). Peter expresses his feelings in this song and it's a brilliant song with a really catchy chorus... 9/10p9. That's Where I'll Belong - Another great track with a a slow but great beat. A song to listen to when you think nothing seems to be going right. 10/10p10. The Right Way - Nice motown vibe. Reminds me of the old-style Peter. Cool chilled out song. 8/10p11. World Of Her Own - A song to get your groove on to. The kind of song that would be played at a beach party. Feel-good song 8/10p12. Untouchable - EXCELLENT song with amazing intrumentals. Again Peter shows off his vocal ability. The chorus is really brilliant. Should definately released as a single. 10/10p13. Mysterious Girl 2004 - Its different... but i prefer the original version :) 7/10pAll in all a great album which is well worth buying. Hopefully Peter will be around for a lot longer. GO BUY HIS ALBUM!!!!!!
Really nice summery album June 6, 2004 Ms. Linda O'connor (London) 9 out of 13 found this review helpful
Some people seem to get a strange satisfaction from slagging Peter Andre off. It's tiresome and childish and, since it mainly seems to be blokes who do it, I assume it stems from jealousy. Whatever. Listen to this album without prejudice and I'm sure you'll like it. Nice summery, feel good songs, well sung, by someone who has been doing it all his life - and it shows. Its great. I'd highly recommend it.
Sadly underrated album May 2, 2006 I can sing 4,000 songs from memory 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Most people hear the name 'Peter Andre' and immediately form a stereotype in their minds, without giving him a chance. I listened to this album because I thought it might have a few good tracks on it - it has more than that - it has several 'classic' tracks on it - i.e. tracks I've added to the collection on my MP3 player of about 2,500 good songs, from hundreds of different artists.
br /1. Insania - okay but not brilliant.
br /2. You got me thinking - ditto.
br /3. Never Gonna Give You Up - a brilliant dance song, with a beautiful, romantic feel to it as well.
br /4. Mysterious Girl - not my cup of tea, but a classic nevertheless.
br /5. What is Love? - another classic song - absolutely brilliant.
br /6. All Cried Out - this is reminiscent of another song by another artist (but I can't remember the title or artist) - okay, but not original enough to be brilliant.
br /7. Let's Go Dancing - okay but not great.
br /8. All Time Girl - this is reminiscent of the song which has a chorus that goes 'Float, float on' (can't remember the artist), but a good, listenable track.
br /9. That's Where I'll Belong - An absolute classic. This song will still sound great in fifty years' time.
br /10. The Right Way - another absolute classic. From the first second I heard it, I loved it. I love the way Peter holds the notes near the end of the song - great for my singing practice!
br /11. World of her own - Okay, but not my cup of tea.
br /12. Untouchable - okay, but not my favourite.
br /13. Mysterious Girl (2004) - I prefer the original version.
br /
br /To sum up - most people will say they can't stand Peter Andre, and won't even listen to this album if you have the audacity to lend them a copy - it's a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.
br /This album has some classic tracks (i.e. better than 99.999% of all music in existence) which will sadly never be heard by people with closed minds...

The man with the babys in his trunk. February 7, 2009 R. Jennings (wendesbury) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
After listening to the album I realised that the picture on the cover shows peter also listening to the album and coming to the same conclusion as me. What we don't see, just out of shot, is Peter's blood soaked wrists releasing his worthless life blood.
br /Good bye peter
