I never heard of Lloyd until i heard Southside and i thought this is a tune, this mans a true G and his album refelcts a great tribute to R'N'B and a great sex CD with a mix of slow jamz and some faster tunes.'Cadillac Love' is the best song on the CD no doubt, its a slow tune with the same impact as Southside.'Hey Young Girl' and 'Trance' are 2 of the faster songs and some great summer tunes with a mix of fast and slow beats.U won't be disappointed with this album

5 out of 5 stars New kid on the atl block   September 26, 2004
This is the newest member of Ja Rules record label Inc and it is safe to say that he is one of the hottest young acts to come out of americasince usher. Lloyd is one of only a few artists in the r b catergory that has been able to make an impact this year. The album is a real jem full of lots of fantasic tracks but all varied with alot of new and unusal beats backing some great lyrics. The best tracks is oviously his smash hit 'Southside' which is one of the best song from a new artist I have heard since Kanye West's 'Through the wire'. Lloyds debu album has lots of great tracks but it could be better as the producing is not fantastic and some of the beats don't go with some of the songs. All in all a very good album and one to have in any hip hop and r b lovers collection.

4 out of 5 stars A voice! Another Murder INC hit!   July 31, 2005

This is another Murder INC album. dropped in middle of july 2004, the debut single "Southside" with Ashanti dropping vocals on the slow, smooth tune, helped boost the profile of Murder INC and of Lloyd. Fresh out of the ATL, signed with Murder a year previously, he has hot vocals and great styles of songs.p1. ATL TALES/RIDE WITH ME FEAT. JA RULE: a good intro. introduces Lloyd by the means of Irv Gotti (CEO of Murder INC)gives great prelude to his life. the colabo with Ja Rule, just hypes it up a little. drops the INC artists into it. 7/10p2. HEY YOUNG GIRL: the second single. yes, second single. this is an interesting song. has LLoyd going back to his roots. has a great variety of song material and styles, along with changes in the beat. i love it. 10/10p3. SOUTHSIDE FEAT ASHANTI: the debut single. smooth, slow and sexy, perfected with the addition of Ashanti on vocals too. was a great idea "meet me on the southside" was a great start for the chorus. works well. 10/10p4. FEELIN YOU: a basic "feeling you girl" kinda vibed song. nothing too speical. 6/10p5. TAKE IT LOW: this song was featured on the end of "Hey Young Girl" video. was a great thing to make me buy the album. end of. good idea, just a flashy kind of tune, with tight beat. 9/10p6. HUSTLER FEAT. CHICK SANTANA: another colabo with a INC favourite, Chick Santana. tells the story of a... well a hustler. enought said. 7/10p7. MY LIFE: tells a little of Lloyds past. just a little sad. keeps the whole album real. 7/10p8. CADDILAC LOVE FEAT. TANIYA: another slow jam. like "Southside" but with the love of a caddie too. lol. good lyrics, good vibe and beat. 9/10p9. TRANCE FEAT. LIL WAYNE: a cash money/darkchild production. had to have Lil Wayne in it, just necessary for Lloyd's album. good asian sounds. about leaving a girl in a trance, because hes sooo fyne. lol yeah like you wouldnt said no! lol. even a good verse from Lil Wayne!! 10/10p10. FEELS SO RIGHT: another slow jam. Yes, yet another, i think "Southside" set this album up too well. lol. just tells his feels about a girl, what he does so well (uhmm hummm... ) 8/10p11. THIS WAY: "this way leads exactly to my room" lol makes alot of sense. just a little jam to show how he puts it down a lady he loves. lol. 10/10p12. MISS LADY (INTERLUDE): just a little dedicate to his lovely lady who makes him who he is. 7/10p13. SWEET DREAMS: a little sad infact. has a great beat though. has Lloyd making a girl tired out and giving her everything she wants. a good idea, just a little tiring after a while. 8/10p14. I'M A G: how sick of "G" songs. i dont like them. this makes out to be veyr holy and worshipful. but Lloyd has great vocals once the song gets going. i dont like the idea, but some lyrics are alright. 8/10p15. YESTERDAY: another song reflecting on his rise to fame. just inspiring him to continue. good slow, un complicated beat. just simple and sweet, added to with rhytmic lyrics and vocals. 7/10p16. SOUTHSIDE [REMIX] FEAT. ASHANTI SCAREFACE: i dont usually like scarface on the INC colabos but these verses from him just make the sense that the song needs after being heard after a few times to get on your nerves a little. makes you keep listening to the orginal lyrics to "Southside" a bit more. 10/10pHIGHLIGHTS:brHEY YOUNG GIRLbrSOUTHSIDE FEAT. ASHANTIbrTAKE IT LOWbrCADDILAC LOVE FEAT. TANIYAbrTRANCE FEAT. LIL WAYNEbrTHIS WAYbrSOUTHSIDE [REMIX] FEAT. ASHANTI SCAREFACEpi think i like too many songs on this album. but the thing is, some of the songs have to be listened to when in a certain mood, such as "Trance" has to be listened to when a little sad but needing an uplift. lol. i didnt think i would like this album when i brought it, but it has made my good CD list over time. if you've brought this and dont like it, please listen to it every so often and i promise that it will grow on you. eventually. it took me a few months.

With a different sound compared to all the other Crooners... The artist has skills measured the same as those I have reviewed on here... If you like the laid back tracks then this is the track for you...penjoy
