Amazon.co.uk Review
If Natasha Bedingfield's first two singles, feisty RB anthem "Single" and chart-topper "These Words", suggested she's more than just Daniel's little sister, her debut album, IUnwritten/I, is the confirmation. Better still, it proves she's a genuine pop star in the making with a staggering tally of potential hits. Aided and abetted by some of music's biggest hit makers, including Robbie Williams's former writing partner Guy Chambers, she reveals the true size of her ambition and potential, squaring up to every female chart icon going. The party hard electro-rock of "I'm A Bomb", the irrepressible optimism of the title track's chorus and "Drop Me In The Middle"'s slinky RB strut, respectively have her taking on Pink, Nelly Furtado and Beyoncé and showing that she's a worthy contender. Add the slamming Gwen Stefani attitude of "If You're Gonna" with its boybaiting hook of "I'm looking for a guard dog not buying a Chihuahua" and the image of an independent, smart talking bombshell who's no one's pushover is complete. And IUnwritten/I is her flawless statement of intent. I--Dan Gennoe/I

5 out of 5 stars If your gonna buy somethin, let it be this!   November 16, 2004

If by now you think you have figured out natashas style of music, judging on her first 3 singles, "single" "these words" and "unwritten" then you are very wrong. These are three fantastic songs but something that is truly outstanding is that there are far better songs on this album. Starting off with the number 1 smash "these words" you get an rb type ballad which is very impressive and really shows off her vocal talents. Moving swiftly on we move to the debut "single" which is equally outstanding rb music which is very orginal and cool.br We then leave that style and move onto a more techno-rock beat with the 3rd track "Im a bomb". Although not as vocally impressive it does give us an insight to a very different side of miss.bedingfield and it is a very enjoyable song. Almost as instantly as we got to this style we leave it and go to the stunning tital track "unwritten". Showing us that Natasha has got a wide range in vocal talents and appreciation for different types of music, and this is only 4 tracks into the album. All the songs are very original and stand out. Especially track 6 "If your gonna..." which is a very rocky side to Natasha and really lets us know what we would get if we were on the wrong side of her. It is a very impressive track and one of my favourites...however i think the ultimate track on this stunning debut album is track 11 "Wild Horses". This is an amazing power ballad driven almost entirely from a piano and natashas voice. This track could possibly be the one that will throw her into superstardom as she has just proved that she is an individual and should not be described as the other musical bedingfield. Natasha has proved to herself and everyone that she possibly has a bigger place in the music industry than most other current artists at the moment. It is real music and i think just as she has appreciated different styles, we should all appreciate her style(s). br This incredible album is finshed perfectly with "Piece of me". It starts off with a slightly rb style but as we get closer to the chorus it is clear this is actually more of a rock-ballad and its a very striking song and yet again shows another side to Natasha and she is someone who will not be knocked off the charts easily! simply, you should buy this album whatever your current thoughts are because there is clear talent here and a wide range of styles that are made outstandingly by one of the best artists of the year.

I'm a very big fan of Natasha Bedingfield and I couldn't wait for "Unwritten" to get it's official release, after hearing the six track album sampler I knew I was gonna love this album and I absolutely adore it, so much it's untrue. The album opens with the #1 hit "These Words" followed by the anthem "Single" both which you will know by know. "I'm A Bomb" is more of a rockier track than everything else on the album, well, it's similar to "If You're Gonna..." which is got lyrics that you will love!. "Unwritten" (the next single) comes next and I love this track, the song has got really good lyrics and a nice melody, the gospel choir fit nicely towards the end of the song. "I Bruise Easily" and "Wild Horses" are the two ballads of the album and are both amazing and single worthy, "Wild Horses" is very sad in my opinion. "Silent Movie" (which I'm listening to right now) is a great track that would also be a good single, infact, all the tracks on this album would be good singles. The only thing left to say is buy the album 'cause you will absolutely love it!.pP.S. There's a hidden bonus track titled "Perfect Day" too.

Natasha Bedingfield has suprised us all with two irressitible and innovative singles. However her debut album Unwritten combines the best from 'these words' and 'single' and fuses together a mixutre of electro pop, rock, rnb and quirky soulful delights. I admire her lyrical perspective as for fans her music is highly empathetic. the best track without a doubt is the forthcoming single unwritten. it is truly an inpsirational song that from the first listen will touch your heart and stay in you're head for a while. both 'size matters' and 'silent movie' are also strong single contenders, 'silent movie' a piece of glam rock with a country feel to it allows the listener to embrace one of the finest qualities of tash, her voice. where as 'im a bomb' a cool funked up electro pop chorus has an high overload of pure attitude, plus a rather linda perry and pink vibe to it. the worst track is 'i bruise easily' i feel it doesn't stand out in oppose to the other tracks. also look out for frogs and princes.pBEST TRACK: Unwritten, it is truly a heartwarming and optimistic track, and 'Im a bomb' it will ahve you dancing around you room l(like you don't do that anyway!!!!)pWORST TRACK: I bruise easily it fails to stand outpgo and buy it i'm sure you will love it.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant!   September 25, 2005

Not just the sister of Daniel, Natasha Bedingfield is a credible and talented artist in her own right. This album is truly the best cd I have ever bought. Natasha's fantastic vocals and talented songwriting ensure that this album stands out above the rest. The album contains 14 songs, including a hidden bonus rack Sojourn, that starts automatically about a minute after Peace of Me.pThese Words - 10/10 - a fantastic song with clever lyrics, catchy hooks and held together by Natasha's amazing voice. A UK number one and one of my favourite songs ever.pSingle - 10/10 - Natasha's first UK single, also a number one. A catchy anthem for single people everywhere, Natasha declares her independence and brings girl power back into the charts. Another of my favourite songs ever.pI'm a Bomb - 8/10 - A good, catchy upbeat song, a little more rocky than the first two songs. Natasha sings about how she is 'ready to blow' and is a force to be reckoned with.pUnwritten - 10/10 - a brilliant title track, slower than some of the others, but still catchy and heartfelt. Another UK smash hit, very very good song.pI Bruise Easily - 10/10 - My favourite song from the album. A heartfelt ballad about how people who are close to you can either 'hurt you or heal you' but you still have to take a leap of faith. A totally amazing song with amazing vocals.pIf You're Gonna - 9/10 - probably the rockiest of the songs on the album, Natasha sings about how life must be lived to the full and you gotta 'stare fear in the face'.pSilent Movie - 8/10 - a very well written, romantic song about how communication can be hard but ultimately you get through.pWe're all mad - 7/10 - another slightly slower song, this is about life and how every cloud has a silver lining and there is a positive side to every bad thing. As Natasha says 'each reveals a meaning'.pFrogs and Princes - 9/10 - another catchy, unbeat tune; about dating, romance and how many frogs we have to kiss before we find our prince.pDrop Me in the Middle - 9/10 - a good song featuring with Bizarre from D-12. This one grew on me too, a song about how we can 'make a ripple effect' and effect those things around us and make a difference.pWild Horses - 9/10 - a slow song, I didn't like it much at first but now I've listened to it more it's grown on me and has become one of my faves. Very cleverly written and beautiful vocals.pSize Matters - 8/10 - not about what you might think but a very good, unbeat song about the size of your heart. Very fun and catchy song.pPeace of Me - 9/10 - a slower song with a rockier chorus, again with amazing lyrics and great vocals both by Natasha. pSoujourn - ???/10 - the hidden track, you'll just have to listen to the cd to find out about this song. Very good though.pOverall a brilliant album, with all songs either written or co-written by Natasha, many inspiring lyrics and her vocals (of course) outstanding all the way through. A variety of different styles, all performed well by Natasha. Definitely the best album I've ever bought, i wholeheartedly recommend it, you won't be dissapointed. Well done Natasha, I can't wait for the next album!

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous debut, well worth each star!   February 6, 2005

Upon purchasing this album, I was (since I had already heard three different songs by Natasha: These Words, Unwritten and her debut, Single) rather unsure as to what to expect. Additionally, as all these tracks are in the first four - along with the thumping I'm A Bomb, again a totally different style as Natasha places her vocals against an electro-style beat - the beginning of my initial listen was greeted with 'what's next?'pWhat follows is a superb mix of beautiful ballads and rockier beats with a surprise entrance from D12's Bizarre in Drop Me In The Middle. Although to some this may appear terribly out of place - is this the same man who stands proudly among one of hip-hop's greats, Eminem? - in fact the album is full of experimentations of different styles ranging from the orchestral highlight of Wild Horses to the Pink-style If You're Gonna. pAll in all a daring and courageous debut album, in which Natasha triumphantly states her identity as being a flexible and more than capable artist in her own right; not merely her brother's shadow. Ultimately, she proves that she is a singer/songwriter (every track was co-written by her) able to compete with fantastic individuality in today's Beyonce and Britney-driven world of pop.
