5 out of 5 stars One of my favourites   October 2, 2005

A great album. The quality varies, but at worst (Dámelo) I quite enjoyed it; at best (Sueños Camisa Negra)I heard some really stirring lyrics and a tune that wrapped itself around my spine and kept me humming for the rest of the day. They stick in your mind, these songs, which I guess may or may not be a bad thing.. it certainly makes a good soundtrack for an otherwise humdrum school day! :D

I think it's more useful if I just give a quick run down of all the songs:p1. Amame - 3/5 - A cool light rock tune which is a nice opener, definately a grower.br2. Para Tu Amor - 2half/5 - Good if you like slow ballads but I find it a bit boring.br3. Suenos - 5/5 - This is where the album gets going with a guitar heavy rock tune.br4. La Camisa Negra - 5/5 - Brilliant song. Similar to "La Paga". The guitar riff is great with a real Latin feel.br5. Nada Valgo Sin Tu Amor - 5/5 - The album's lead single, a brilliant slice of pop rock.br6. No Siento Penas - 3/5 - A chilled out sorta ballad song.OK.br7. Damelo - 5/5 - Brilliant funky rock song.br8. Lo Que Me Gusta A Mi - 4/5 - This is a really fun song which reminds me of summer.br9. Rosario Tijeras - 3/5 - A nice latin rock jam.br10. Que Pasa? - 5/5 - My favourite on the album. The lyrics are great and the reggae rock sound adds more variation to the album.br11. Volverte A Ver - 4/5 - The second release from this album. It's a catchy poppy tune.br12. Tu Guardian - 2/5 - Yawn....

but i love this record! heard it when i was out with friends in Venezuela over new year and didn't know who it was by. Then saw it on Tv over here in UK a few weeks back. I think he's the biggest music star in South America or something. Great album and don't be put off by the fact that it's all in spanish, the songs are great, not like anything else in my collection which is nice. It sounds like a good stadium rock album with latino flecks to it, you know a bit of salsa style with good rock ballads. Produced by the guy that did the scores for Brokeback Mountain, Maria Full of Grace and Motorcycle Diaries - Carlos something or other, think he won an oscar this year for Brokeback. So anyways all round great album. Go get it!

This album was my introduction to Juanes. Having heard "La Camisa Negra" on the music channel I just had to buy it. I speak very little spanish but that doesn't matter because you can appreciate the musicality and there are plenty sites on the internet which give translations. br / br /I now have all of his albums and find it fascinating how he's developed since "Fijate Bien". Every album is different and for those who say Juanes has lost his way - that's just not true. He refuses to fit nicely into a specific genre so he can use all his influences and since he has the talent to do this I have no problem with it. br /The only song I don't like on the album is "Tu Guardian" which is a bit slow and not a good album ender. br / br /10/10 Definitely a good buy if you're open minded enough to listen to lyrics which aren't in English.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant   March 20, 2006
I#x27;ve never heard of Juanes before Mi Sangre(I#x27;m a beginner in Spanish) but think it#x27;s absolutley brilliant. Haven#x27;t bothered to take it out of my CD player. It#x27;s that good.
