The Voice of a Pop Angel! April 18, 2006 Jules Saney (Walsall,England) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I wasn't convinced that "Charlotte goes pop" would work, but it certainly has. There's everything from downright raunchy to quiet and reflective. If you're thinking of buying on the basis of liking the two or three tracks you've heard on the radio, then go ahead:all twelve tracks are quality. There's no substitute for class.....and Charlotte's got it in abundance.
Totally bowled over! March 12, 2006 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Call My Name and Crazy Chick were good enough but the rest of the album is inventive, mature and I can#x27;t stop playing it. The RB influence is just great and Charlotte sings it so well. What can I say... I#x27;m impressed!
Way to Go Charlotte! July 10, 2005 Ed-ward (Vancouver, Canada) 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
Initially, I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this album. I figured, she's got a good voice, it'll be at least half decent. Now that i've listened to the album from beginning to end, I have to state that this album is REALLY REALLY GOOD. I find myself bobbing along to the beat and getting caught up in the beauty and emotion of other songs. Charlotte's voice has done itself well on this album, showing her control and stunning voice. While there's no insanely high notes, the album shows her in a very comfortable range and does foray into the lower and upper parts. I would reccommend this album to anyone!pFavourite songs: Crazy Chick, Show a Little Faith, Easy Way Out, Confessional Song
Tissues and Issues December 6, 2006 S. Winn (UK) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was surprised to find out that the catchy 'Crazy Chick' single I'd been hearing on the radio was from an album by Charlotte Church. I must admit, i wasn't a fan of Miss Church's 'opera' songs, and it wasn't until the release of 'Moodswings [To Come At Me Like That]' that i really became a fan. Tissues and Issues is a complete turn-around for Charlotte Church. The angelic faced soprano is long gone, in her place is a feisty confident woman. The album contains a varied range of songs, from the soulful 'Fool No More' to the dance influenced 'Let's Be Alone'. co-writing more than half of this album Charlotte really shows us what she's capable of. If you're a fan of Charlotte's previous albums I'm not sure this one is for you, but if you're looking for an album full of beautifully sung, well written songs Tissues and Issues is a must-buy for you.
Brilliant! September 15, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This album is marvellous! Charlotte Church has really made a fabulous transition into the pop world! Songs such as Confessional Song, Even God and Moodswings show off Church's voice in the best way possible. She hits every note perfectly, the lyrics are brilliant and the songs as wholes are enjoyable. And it's not as if she's pretending her successful classical career never existed- in Tissues and Issues Church uses classical techniques in her voice which give this album a unique sound and make it stand out. pAn amaaaaazing album, I recommend it to everyone!!
