The New Mary J Blige Has Come! December 6, 2005 N. Moeti (London) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This album has been the best albums I#x27;ve heard this YEAR! It is a hot album. The vocals smack most rnb singers out there and her lyrics have depth and meaning and are sung with RAW material.br Listen to LOVE and you#x27;ll understand what I mean. brThe few RnB chicks that dont rely on image and production to sell, just TALENT.

What can I say, an amazing album. Not one bad song, although only 12 tracks Keyshia's voice is very versitile and no songs sound alike. However this album is not for commerical r+b fans. I would liken her to Mary J Blige on Whats the 411. Raw emotion and REAL lyrics. This is no Beyonce or Ashanti lover album, only for the TRUE r+b heads. Hopefully she will get the recognition she deserves, my best track # 2, produced by Kanye West.
Fabolousssssss! Miss Cole#x27;s GONNA BE BIG!!! March 16, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first heard of Keyshia nearly 2 years ago on Mtv Base with "I changed my mind" with Kanye West. I fell in love with this song cos at the time i was going thru a bad phase with my ex boyf, i decided to go and seach the internet for more, i listened to more of her tracks n looked around for the album.......months later it was finally released! My fave tracks on here are Changed my mind, Love, Shoulda Cheated, guess what ft jadakiss Youve changed, down and dirty, Never enuff ft Eve, susperstar and i just want it to be over. My absolut favourite is Thought you had my back. I love this track cos it helped me thru sum tuff times, every word in it describes how my situation was with my ex. Keyshia#x27;s music is all real life, real music and she makes u feel like ur livin it. Fantastic debut album, great voice, wonderful lyrics and wotta pretty thing she is too! Check out her unreleased tracks with Remy Martin and Messy Marv.
Outstanding Debut from Keyshia Cole March 26, 2006 S. Mangan-Taylor (United Kingdom) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first heard of Keyshia Cole a couple of years ago with the track 'Never' which I thought was brilliant. A year later, she released an album and it really is top quality! p1. (I Just Want It) To Be Over: A really heavy RB track to open the album. Great vocals on this track. Brilliant way to open the album. 5/5 p2. I Changed My Mind: Has to be one of the best tracks on the album. Everything about the track is really catchy and the lyrics are brilliant. 5/5 p3. Thought You Had My Back: I really hoped that this track would become a single as its another one of my favourites. The chorus is just so catchy. Great track. 5/5 p4. I Should Have Cheated: Due for release in the UK in April and it will be her first single release here in the UK. Personally, I think she would have been better releasing I Changed My Mind instead but this track is still very good. 4/5 p5. Guess What?: This is a really heavy RB/Hip Hop track which does include a lot of swearing. The verses and chorus are just really catchy. Should also be a single. 5/5 p6. LOVE: Keyshia's biggest hit over in the US at the moment. Personally, I don't think the track is that great and I don't really like her vocals on the chorus. 3/5 p7. You've Changed: Makes up for track 6. An excellent slice of RB. 4/5 p8. We Could Be: Another great track and the best slow track on the album. 4/5 p9. Situations: Again, I think this track should have been a single as its an amazing track and it really is catchy. I love the chorus. 5/5 p10. Down Dirty: Wasn't too keen on this track at first but it really grows on you in time. Great track. 4/5 p11. Superstar: Again, when I first heard it I thought it was a little bland but it does grow on you though its not the best on the album. 4/5 p12. Never featuring Eve: This was the first ever track I heard from Keyshia and I still think its the best track on the album. The chorus and verses are so unbelievably catchy and Eve's rap is really infectious. Love it! 5/5 pOverall, a really outstanding debut from Keyshia and she really is a young version of Mary J Blige with a bit of edge. brThis woman is certainly gonna be around for a good few years!
