Living up to the excitement! January 15, 2006 H. Playford 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I was unbelievably excited about getting my hands on this album! Having become a Bif fan through her performance on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, her albums have been the most eagerly anticipated in my collection. brThis one does not disappoint.brBif#x27;s trademarks are her powerful, haunting voice, clever lyrics and unerring originality. This album is packed with all three. brIt#x27;s impossible to assign Bif to a particular genre, and the sheer diversity of this album makes it special.brFrom the mellow, melody led "The World is Over" to the harder, Nickelback-esque "The Question Song" the album is full of surprises. You can hear a Gwen Stefani influence on the electronic intro to "Yeah, You" but that#x27;s as far as any similarities go. You can#x27;t compare Bif to anyone, especially not herself.brStandout track "Ladybug Waltz" hearkens back to earlier times - particularly tracks like I Bificus#x27;s "I Died" and "I Want" is slightly reminiscent of "I Love Myself Today" from Purge.brBut don#x27;t expect this to sound like any of Bif#x27;s previous work - it is unmistakeably her, but an older, mellower, more mature her. brIf you enjoy highly original, lyrically ingenious, powerful, alternative rock - buy this and you won#x27;t be disappointed.
No disappointments April 1, 2007 Lateau (UK) It was the I Bificus albumn that first got me hoooked on Bif, and from there I went through her angsty back catalog as well as ongoing releases. This albumn did not disappoint me.

br /From the tracks Abandonment and Let Down this collection goes from strength to strength, maintaining it's quality through to the end. As any of her offerings you have the more quiet moments thrown in with her rock/indie/punk mix. Henry was a song that suprised me when I first heard it and then got into my head soon after. Hidden standout track of the album.

br /If you like Bif then you will like this one. If you have not bought her songs before then this is not a bad place to start.
One for the collection April 4, 2008 C. Slatter (UK) Rarely have I been anticipating an new release from a band, but SuperBeautifulMonster was one I really couldn't wait for. The result is an album that is never far from my CD player. Normally I would expect to find at least one track that I would skip past on an album, but there are always exceptions.

br /It has lost some of the raw edge of the earlier albums, but holds a maturity and style over many of her contemporaries or peers. Could I pick a favourite track? Probably not. Nothing Else Matters is a superb ballad, whilst I Want and The Question Song is just the sort of music you'd want to be driving along to. Other tracks like The World is Over and Henry evens the tempo out a lot.

br /That Bif Naked is less known in the UK is a real shame, but if you make the effort to find her albums, then it is money well spent.
Classic in the making August 7, 2007 Max Quad (Berkshire, England) I bought this speculatively as a recommendation after 'similar' purchases of Lucy Woodward and Sheryl Crow. What a surprize! I play this so often I may need another quite soon. Each track is a masterclass in rock music writing and production and if you look at Bif on YouTube you'll see why. I confess that I play this really loudly in my vehicle and this just seems to add to the energy Bif brings to her work. No track sounds like a filler and the final track is my favourite. I'm only sad I missed her when she came to England last year (2006). I have bought her other albums since, but this remains in my 'all time top ten'.
Amazing! December 5, 2007 Mr. Steven W. Downey (UK) This is simply a stunning album from start to finish. I have most of her others and this is by far her best yet. It rocks harder than before and the whole thing seems a lot more mature, musically and lyrically.
br /She's an amazing singer with a great range with a voice that can ROCK!
br /It's a shame that she's not know much in the UK, I can't find any of her albums in major UK record stores. So many people are missing out on this talent.
br /I only discovered her on some late night minor music channel.
br /Beyond the rock it is clear from her lyrics and booklet notes that she is genuinly a decent person.
br /So if you want an album that rocks by a beautiful woman then get this!
