I really liked Mariah when she fisrt started out in the 80#x27;s but something went horribly wrong in the 90#x27;s and Mariahs Albums were not as good. This is the first Album of hers i have bought since her 1st two and i can say it is absolutely fantastic. Every song is different and catchy. There is not 1 song on the album that I do not like. I f you like RnB buy this album it is a must for your collection.

5 out of 5 stars 10 times better than the original!   February 16, 2006

Anyone who has not yet bought this Ultra version of The Emancipation of Mimi is really missing out. The four new tracks in my opinion are better than all the tracks on the oringinal album. I keep listening to the last three songs on repeat!p"Making it Last All Night" is very catchy. It reminds me of #x27;Long Ago#x27; (although more uptempo) as it is an RnB song with strong vocals but without the airiness and high notes.p"So Lonely" has the potential to be my favourite Mariah song (and I#x27;m more of a fan of the older stuff!). It is absolutely excellent (I didn#x27;t even like part 1 - #x27;One Only#x27;) and deserves to be number 1 if given the airplay. It has a really sexy beat and the chorus is very catchy.pThe "We Belong Together Remix" is one of those summer songs where you have to play it really loud in your car with the windows down. The piano tune in the background really adds depth to the song, and the beat is very fast (compared to the original), good to dance to! They played this at a Cardiff nightclub I was at a few weeks ago, I was loving it! pGet rid of your old one and buy the special edition! It even has some of her videos on DVD! But it#x27;s worth it just for the extra tracks. These new RnB songs are quality and are of the same standard as the #x27;The Roof#x27;.

This record pulls no punches it is definitely her best so far... it really shows off her voice and the songwriting is really excellent. Its been a few turbulent years for Mariah but this record shows that she's really back in the game...What I love about this record is that there are many great collaborations including Pharrell Willlliams who does the producing and also Snoop dogg the legend himself!!! as well as Nelly and Twista. It shows that Mariah is not afraid to try something new.Highly Recommended!!

I am a true Hard-Core Mariah Fan and was very excited for the release of this album. However, I was a bit apprehensive, purly because I just love the work of Daydream and Music Box and heard that this new album would be soley hip-hop...Oh how wrong I was! There's such a mix from RnB, pop and sensational ballads. She's definatly showing off all her talents in this album. It's hard to say that this is my favorite album to date because there are so many other that equalize to it. It has to be said though that Mariah is always way ahead for creativity, lyrics and that truely amazing voice. Well done Mariah.

5 out of 5 stars Twice as good as any other Mariah Carey album.   March 18, 2006

Mariah Carey is definitley back with "The Emancipation of Mimi" which, despite the uninspiring title, contains about 7 brilliant tracks and no fillers. Fans of Carey will love it, and even those who wouldn#x27;t normally like her style should buy it.pThe highlights? Carey has employed the services of loads of rappers, Nelly, Fatman Scoop, Twista etc to introduce a credible rap/hip-hop twist to her songs. Her unique voice shines through on every track, most notably the sublime "We Belong Together". Other great songs here include "It#x27;s Like That", a highly original collaboration with Fatman Scoop, "Fly Like A Bird" which is a little different from the rest, "One and Only", "Get Your Number", "Don#x27;t Forget About Us" and of course the "We Belong Together" remix which completeley alters the tempo and structure of the fantastic original.pThe only low point I can identify is the sixteenth listed, "Makin#x27; It Last All Night", which in my opinion was not hugely striking in any particular way although it is still not a very bad song.pBuy this album - it is worth it for "We Belong Together" and the re-mix alone, although you will find so many more brilliant songs here.
